Has anyone done a complete 2019 Ranger oil/filter change by themselves yet?

Did my first one yesterday(trucks second) and made a mess, lol. I underestimated how far the oil would shoot out when placing the pan! Engine was still fairly warm and it damn near made it to the passenger side tire! For my next act, while I was under the front I spotted what I thought was the filter drain path everyone mentioned and place the pan under it......it wasnt, too far forward, lol. Anyway I tightened it up quick again and didnt loose much, but I now have lots of floor dry on the garage floor.

I was working off the original version of the owners manual that stated 5.4L, but it sure seemed like more than that came out, so I checked back here and found that it had been updated to 5.8L, glad I checked.

All and all a pretty easy job, will be easier and less messy the next time:)

Did my first change yesterday, 5,700 miles. Display said 45 percent life left but I have been towing almost all miles so I decided to change before my next trip (will be about 3500 miles).
Used recommended filter and Mobile 1 oil.
No real problems.

Anyone know the diameter of the Fumoto valve outlet tube? I like to buy the correct size hose to extend it.

20min taking my time. Super easy. If you have the correct filter socket, it comes right of using a long extension and a ratchet. spray a little brake cleaner on the filter drain tray and you wont have a drop of oil left. You don't need to remove the wheel. Its way easier than a F-150.

Mine looks 3/8"OD, I plan to use 1/2" OD, though I've not had the opportunity to try yet.

The way it sits, it might clear the skid plate until the flow slows down, at which point I might just make a chute similar to how the oil filter drains off.

Which filter socket did you use?

3/8 ID hose should work.

That depends on the filter you choose...my Fram uses a different size than OEM...
Thanks. I’ve got an old RAV4 filter socket that might work. I’ll take it to autozone and try a test fit on the motorcraft.

Did it today. Yeah remove 4 clips from the rubber splash shield for filter access. Remove skid plate, it will be easy next time. Mobil 1 Annual Protection and Mobil 1 filter.

Since it is a new engine I am going to break in my FREE 3 year maintenance with a first oil change at 2500 - 3000 miles.

I didn't see any pictures posted here of the actual installed filter. It took me a few minutes to find it so here is a picture of me pointing to behind my driver's side front wheel.

The 4 plastic "screw rivets" on the left fender flap to access the oil filter are
disappearing one by one. I went to Ford to purchase a handful but at $7.00 USD a piece,
is highway robbery. Ford Part #W715694-S300. Can these special plastic rivets be found
for a cheaper price? Even at $3.00 a piece is ludicrous.
