When you did the math on your fuel receipts vs the Trip meter how did it actually do? 24.3 mpg is admittedly impressive, but i find that the onboard fuel calculations are a few mpg better then the actual fuel burn.

Of all the vehicles Ive owned with an onboard fuel economy calculator, I never never seen one that actually read honestly. They always seem to read better then actual conditions. Funny....
My onboard computer is about 3 mpg off, you really need to do a real world calculation, you would be amazed how much some of these onboard computers are.

I
Definitely one of the things I'm looking forward to, is long road trips in the Ranger. We've been on quite a few trips already, but none more than 5hrs away yet. We leave on a week long trip this weekend, so that'll be nice. Definitely want to take this thing on some sort of long trip out East or West or North. Just have to save up some vacation time and hit the road!
It was very comfortable on the long stretches. I don’t know why, but this surprised me. No back fatigue or cramps. The FX4 suspension was a dream on and off road -EXCEPT when making quick, evasive type maneuvers; where it wallows a bit. Definitely NOT my PP Mustang GT during quick-ish lane changes. Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised an it’s road manners and passing power.

That looks like a most enjoyable road trip. Congrats on your safe return.

I have done many, many cross-country trips on my F150 last truck but while it was a most comfy ride even with two big dogs in the supercab hammock, I never enjoyed the 15 mpg.

Took a trip Cleveland OH to Lakeland FL, 2400 miles. Truck said I got 27.1 MPG, but I calculated 25.5. Tried to go 70 but never more.

25.5 is a great number. Good 'throttle discipline'. lol Due to the distances involved and the 80 MPH speed limits in UT and WY, I seldom dropped below 75 over 80% of my trip. At least 85-87 mph in UT and WY.
