Having all the necessary equipment to regularly rotate tires as I have done for many years, I performed my 1st Ranger rotation yesterday. Seemed strange one lugnut on each axel was extremely tight compared to others with removal using standard impact gun. I only use a quality torque wrench set to the factory recommended 100 ft lbs for reinstallation. On the last wheel install and torque one of the wheel studs snapped. Apparently a defective stud. Heading into the dealer shortly. Don't know how difficult it will be but I assume it will be covered.

Also changed oil for 1st time. If you use an oil filter cap wrench to install the Ford recommended Motorcraft FL-910S filter don't assume it will fit the factory filter. It does not!

That sucks! I hate when simple jobs go south like that.

So the factory filter is different than those sold by Ford as a replacement? That's just not right!

I'd be shocked beyond belief if they actually 'covered' it...

76MM 14 Flutes is the exact cap that fits the 910S. Mine is a Steelman cap.
It removed the factory one, and one was not needed to reinstall it by hand.

It is a different filter (OEM), but its still 76mm and 14 flutes.

yeah, they will say you over-torqued it. Another good reason to just let the dealer do routine maintenance. They break it, they fix it. You break it, you fix it.

I avoid Fram and Purolator filters like the plague! JMO.
Wix, Hastings, Bosch and surprisingly Motorcraft filters score really high and are pretty damn solid to work with..not as flimsy as others on the market. NAPA filters last time I checked were Wix rebranded...
I'm with you Nick...I've since moved on to OEM filter...a whole lot cheaper at $4 per filter...

I have a filter wrench with retractable claws, it grabs anything.
