PSA, the Fumoto for the Ecoboost 2.3L in the other vehicles would physically thread in if the side didn't stick out and hit the oil pan. Sort of upset as it is not what I wanted to happen.

I do believe there is an extension piece for exactly this problem though. Will be ordering that soon.

EDIT: I ordered this extension. No idea if it will work or not.

Can you post a photo of the problem? I'm having a hard time visualizing it.

Thanks for posting this. A Fumoto was on my wish list, but not anymore!

The 107sx would fit, and the 107n will most likely fit with the short adapter I ordered above. Still worth not having to take that skid plate off each change.

"Measure twice, cut once." No disrespect intended here, but can somebody please confirm that the 107sx is the correct part number we need??

Fumoto says it fits on recessed oil pans. I bought the extension adapter, and will be putting it in on the next change. I don't want to drip oil all over the place, so I can't tell you if it fits yet or not. My gut says it will, but my gut also told me the 107N for the Explorer would also fit :)

They do not get all the sludge from the bottom of the pan like draining it from the plug
Run the engine prior to change, then let cool to 70F. Sludge will not be on bottom. If you change on schedule sludge should not form. Draining out a small hole it bottom would not remove sludge either.

Every 3rd or 4th oil change drain from bottom if concerned.
