Been mulling this over myself. I am thinking of ordering some plastic mesh from EBay and seeing what I can come up with. I haven't been able to advance the idea since I don't have my truck yet. That should be rectified tomorrow. It has the adaptive cruise.

Sent email to supplier of the F150 part to see if they had a Ranger lower grill. Reply below. Have asked if they have plans. Waiting reply.

the last time this came up, the consensus was that the mesh wasn't going to stop anything capable of damaging the radiator

The F150 one is Auto grade plastic. Depending how mounted it will offer some protection. Small rocks from bending fins. Now if a baseball hits it at 80mph, then maybe not.
I like it for looks and might be some protection. Help keep fins from being bent.

I think the point was that anything small wasn't going to bend the fins anyway (they aren't that delicate), so it's pointless. If you are just going for a look then have at it.

My experience is at that low position they take a beating.
They do not look much stronger than my car and after 4 years it is beat well. But even for looks I would do. Just like win/win situations!

Also thinking about this. Isn't that the inter-cooler down there? I've only had my XLT a week and already there are bugs in the fins.
Just seems too easy for a stone from a vehicle ahead to get kicked up and in it goes. I was thinking aluminum expanded mesh from the home center - maybe paint it black.

They make black coated mesh for auto racing I am sure.
The question is how best to secure. With bumper in place would be nice. I will need to sit down and look more at the opening.

Maybe angled clips that are screwed in will hold. Plastic so easier hold handle. Just have to find a matching design.

That mesh is attractive but I think the holes are too large at 1.18 x 0,47" Agreed we have to sit down at grill level and examine closer this weekend.

Has anyone tried installing anything like this? I see potential for road debris to get in there and damage the turbo cooler.

Not yet.
Available for F150.
Hope someone might make a Ranger. Some think no help but wrong. Evenings at 80mph bend fins. Mesh might help break them up and lessen impact. I see a couple impacts all ready and I rarely follow people in rural TN.
