Hey all, one of my friends that does fab work made some custom rock sliders for me. Decided to go custom because, well, there aren't many options out yet (if any).

We decided to go with a run-of-the-mill slider design (think Trail Gear) and originally I wanted them to be bolt on. I went to see him to get measurements done, and a few weeks later, I dropped the truck off with him over the weekend for him to attach it to the frame.

In the end, feasibility of a bolt-on slider given our time constraints (we live pretty far away from each other) was looking slim. Determining the drill holes was just taking too much time and we decided to pin weld the plate on to the frame as a compromise. It's still technically removable if I needed to, but it's on there strong enough for my off-roading needs. I don't plan on doing any extreme rock crawling with a brand new truck so this will serve its purpose to protect the sliders for now.

My friend is open to take orders if anyone is interested. Just let me know and I'll get you his contact info. Enjoy the pics!

I like the simplicity and clean profile, but would require a bolt-on application. What’s the estimated cost?

Now that he has the measurements, it would be a lot easier for him to fab up bolt-on sliders and ship them to you. I'm not sure what he would charge (if I had to guess, somewhere in the $700-900 range), but I can PM you his contact info so that you can talk with him directly. Let me know if you're interested.

Personally I think they don't stick out far enough. They should just be a tad farther out then bodies widest point. That way something will hit them first and protect the body.

I always use mine on my other truck to pivot off rocks when off roading. They also double as a step.

Love the simplicity and solid frame mount...I agree with comments that it can stand to stick out further for protection and double as step...price point? Any chance I can see this in person when I come up to MI in August?

Extra width would be very easy to accommodate and he is very flexible with whatever you would want him to fab.

Not too sure on what he would charge, if I had to guess, probably in the neighborhood of $800? And definitely, just shoot me a PM when you're in the area and I'll be happy to meet!

If I had to do it again, I would probably ask for extra width for sure. However, after living with it for a few months and two trips to two different off road parks, they do the job and I'm happy (and relieved) I got them. The undersides of the sliders are nice and banged up so they definitely protect my door sills.

Extra width protection would have been nice but to be honest, I don't think I'll be attempting any extreme rock crawling that has the potential for side body damage on this truck since it's my daily driver for the next 5+ years. Future off road builds will get the full works!

Are these bolted to the frame or welded?
We pin welded mine due to time constraints. Bolt on is definitely an option for people wanting to order it.
