I think potential issues with tonneau covers and car washes (whether commercial or at home) has to do with the chemicals used. Many car washes use high PH alkaline cleaners (to quickly remove dirt/grime) which can cause oxidation if allowed to dry on the surface of the covers, particularly in direct sunlight. If properly rinsed there should be no problem.

No set instructions on what to do when going through a touchless carwash with a tonneau cover. Nothing in the installation instructions.

Soft roll up cover, do you:

Leave it latched and closed?

Roll up the cover and secure it with the straps at the back of the cab?

Or don't get a touchless wash at all? (Hopefully not, can't hand wash the truck all the time, especially in winter months)

Leave it rolled down and secured as usual. Even with a brush car wash nothing will touch it. The high pressure water and air driers won’t detach it. Might get a little water seepage, but not enough to bother unless you have a bed rug or something.

I had a Truxedo on my old Ranger and ran it through car washes for 7 or 8 years, it still looked fine when I sold the truck.
