Just completed a 100 mile car tow using a u haul tow dolly. Mostly 4 lane rd which was pretty flat. Ranger handled tow like nothing was there. probably around 4000 pounds total. Got 21.4 mpg.

First large load today. The truck pulls sooooo nicely, and the Redarc has a ton of power. I only had it set on 2.

This is my great-grandpa’s 1942 JD “H”, and a horse drawn wheat drill ca. 1918.

Towed from Beaver Bend State Park to Eufaula State Park (177ish miles) and got 8.7 MPG (computer) with 87 in the tank. I tried to maintain 65 with cruise but quickly had to turn it off. Let’s just say power isn’t an issue but maintaining speed on rolling hills was too much for cruise control.

Not what I was hoping for as my 2011 F150 5.0 got 10 mpg on the way down there. The temps were in the high 70s to low 80s.

I locked out 9 and 10 as well. The truck would shift to 9 but mileage was taking a hit. 8th gear was the sweet spot at around 2500 rpm.

Did you use the "Trailer Tow" mode?

Forest River 21FBRS. Ranger tows with much more control, power, and visibility that our previous ‘16 Frontier SV V6. With Tow package it almost drives itself. Easier to hitch and maneuver. 12.3 mpg is pretty good. Love it!

I am still happy and it towed very well. Just a trade off I guess on mileage vs power. The 2011 F150 5.0 seemed to work harder (it does have 100k on it).

Just was hoping for 10mpg. Will see how it does tomorrow on more interstate travels.

We averaged over 20 mpg towing our teardrop on a recent camping trip. Averaged 18.5 mpg towing it to Portland, Oregon from Bend over a mountain pass. It will be less coming back because it is more climbing from Portland to Bend. Still, pleasantly surprised with the mileage so far and love the towing capabilities.

Towed 200 miles today to Dallas, staying till Thursday or Friday. Truck handles great. I have fastway e2 wdh, little to no sway in 18-20mph winds but not good on gas mileage. Averaging 10-11 miles per gallon, but my F-150 did about the same

Towed R-Pod 195 Hood River Edition 8' w x 22'2" l x 9'8" h (dry weight 3652#) 305 miles this weekend. Two fuel-ups, 9.3 MPG and 10 MPG. First leg had 20+ mph side winds and 3 times sway control activated while going downhill and crosswinds. Rest of the drive went very well and was happy w/ the MPG I got. Dropped it off at the river/lake land where the family relaxes and then last leg home 145 miles 22.1 MPG.

Just picked up my trailer today. Got the brake controller adjusted. Start home (Georgia to Dallas) tomorrow morning. Trailer tows well. It is empty, so only about 2300 pounds.
