Radio on when no keys in the ignition...

Ok, not sure if this is a big deal but I was detailing the inside of my Ranger and hit the on button for the radio and it came on and started playing. The keys were not in the ignition. In the other vehicles I own you have to have the keys in the ignition and turned to the acc. For the radio to work.

I have a Sport XLT.

Is this supposed to be doing this? Does anyone else have this happening in their Ranger?

I've had cars that work both ways.

My xlt sport does the same. I find it to be a good thing, the doors can be open and the radio can be heard without the door dinger going off
