Electronic Fax Machine Noise?

Hello all, im really happy to have found this forum, reading fellow 5G owners issues has been really helpfull.

I picked up my 2019 XLT Supercrew on Saturday and i am wondering about a wierd noise the truck makes when you first open the door (with the engine off). Opening the door causes this electronic faxmachine type noise as it boots up for about 2 seconds? Its most noticable in the quiet garage, but it pretty much does it every time you open the door on the truck if its off.
Is this normal? What is it?

Ok cool thanks for the comment. It sounds like it could be a pump priming i suppose. Its just strange enough to make me wonder

I noticed it on mine. It's not annoying to me. I'll chalk it up to the system just reacting to human input...lol!

Fuel pump prime when opening the door ? Well, that's just odd.

I have the same thing. My wife's KIA and my Colorado made similar noises. I just chalked it up to technology schtuff.

Yep, fuel pump priming up when drivers door is opened. If it is anything like my Jetta that is what you are hearing. It only does it when the vehicle has not been driven for a while. After it sits idle for some time the pressure is released and the fuel returns to the tank. I wondered what that noise was too when I first got the vehicle. Congrats on your new Ranger.

Yeah mine makes a little mechanical-electric noise when you unlock and open the door, but certainly doesn't sound like an old fax machine. Haha
