Hey all, one of my friends that does fab work made some custom rock sliders for me. Decided to go custom because, well, there aren't many options out yet (if any).
We decided to go with a run-of-the-mill slider design (think Trail Gear) and originally I wanted them to be bolt on. I went to see him to get measurements done, and a few weeks later, I dropped the truck off with him over the weekend for him to attach it to the frame.
In the end, feasibility of a bolt-on slider given our time constraints (we live pretty far away from each other) was looking slim. Determining the drill holes was just taking too much time and we decided to pin weld the plate on to the frame as a compromise. It's still technically removable if I needed to, but it's on there strong enough for my off-roading needs. I don't plan on doing any extreme rock crawling with a brand new truck so this will serve its purpose to protect the sliders for now.
My friend is open to take orders if anyone is interested. Just let me know and I'll get you his contact info. Enjoy the pics!
