I saw on another post one of the suspension vendors is selling is some that are kind of angled to add more clearance for tires. Can’t remember which vendor though :(.

With a 2.5" leveling kit, do you think I could run 275/70/18s?

You will most likely have to remove the crash bars. I put Fuel Tactic 18 x 9 with Toyo tires, you can remove the crash bars without cutting by loosing front bumper.

You can remove the crash bars without removing the front bumper? Could you let us know how? Everyone who has posted has said that they cut them off because the bumper gets in the way. From when I've peeked in the wheel well it looks like the bumper gets in the way too.

Doug, I took mine to a tire and rim shop, they told me they loosened the bumper and pulled them out, they handed them back to me.

My new Ranger came with 265/60R18 tires and I'll be purchasing a 2.5" leveling kit in the near future. What is the maximum size tire I can go with without replacing the stock wheels? Can I fit a 17" tire on my stock wheels? I figure I can go with the leveling kit get at least another inch by putting 265/65R18 on it but wanted to know if I could go taller without modifying or removing the crashbars and like I said if possible maybe even drop to a 17" tire to get a taller tire.

Was thinking 265/65/18 Duratracs? Would I need to replace my wheels if I went with the BFGs 265/70/R17? Those BFGs are heavy tires I've had them on trucks in the past, they look amazing but really gouge into your MPG and the performance even with a Turbo charged I'm afraid would suffer a bit on the performance. Never really saw a confirmation if 255/75/17 or 255/80/17 would fit without cutting or removing the crash bars. I don't mind using a heat gun to mold the inside wheel well (did that on my frontier with my BFGs).

I've read a lot on the subject here (thanks!) but not sure I completely understand it all. I want the large aggressive AT tire that will fit on a 2.5" leveling kit and use my stock wheel. These stock Michelin Premier A/S BSW tire looks like something my in-laws should have on their mini van.

17 inch tires wont work on 18 inch wheels. Others will chime in here about specific sizes that will work. Good luck with your build

That's the same size I want as well. Already have the Bilstein 6112's for the front and hoping to just replace the crash bars with a BDS kit. Would be nice to not have to mess with the crash bars though.

After looking into more I don't know if it'll work without fully removing the crash bars. I'm willing to buy aftermarket bars but not fully remove them and have nothing. Im also debating 265/70R18 and 285/65R18. Both those have a diameter of 32.6 instead of the 275/70 R18's 33.2 diameter. I do believe that a 32.6 would be fine with the crash bars.

Agree, that may be the way to go.
