Found this walking my creek bank this afternoon. Common in a lot of places but Texas Hill Country is not one of them. Quartz crystal.

Black Hills

I grew up in the Black Hills. Fished that pond in Spearfish Canyon more times than I could count, and took my collection of Ford Escapes on enough fire trails to embarrass the average Jeep owner ? (amazed I didn't destroy them any more than I did lol) Sure do miss living out there!
