Center Armrest Console Storage Tray

I bought this tray from AliExpress and got it to work with some minor snipping in the front corners to allow the posts that stick down from the console lid to slide into place.

Or just some fancier cutting! I just quickly did it on a small jig saw. You can't see it once in place.

Can you explain how the cutting helps? I finally got my Ranger and the console tray fits without trimming, however I can’t close the lid!

Take a look at the underside of the console lid. You can't close it because of the two pegs that hang down from the front of the lid and hit the tray. Trimming off near the front corners lets the pegs clear the tray.

Reviving this thread... I just received the same tray from ebay and the corners were also chipped. Appears to be a relatively low grade plastic. That said, I'm going to glue the corners back and see how how much mileage I get out of it.

It looks like they have updated the mold for the tray and that modifications by the buyer may no longer be required. I ordered one, and will post when it arrives...

The eBay listing shows this is still not compatible with the 2019 Ranger. It'll be interesting to see if it fits or not.

You will have to notch the front corners which is easy to do. I’ve had it for a while now. Works great.

If you have seen the "storage tray" that comes with the 2019 Ford Ranger, you'll realize pretty quickly how useless it is.

Useless? Meh... Opinions Vary. It's perfect for a 10mm Craftsman combination wrench. You'll need one to disconnect the negative battery cable when the computer goes bonkers.
