Black & Decker was our home team, until they got bought by a multinational and shut down their local manufacturing. (Most of which moved offshore.) They still have some office workers in the old home town. The same is mostly true of the Porter Cable subsidiary as well. And the DeWalt subsidiary, although I think more of the DeWalt branded stuff is made domestically than any of the other labels (both cause and effect of the higher price tag).
DeWalt is the only power tool left out of the big boys to be owned by an American company. That’s why I won’t buy Milwaukee. Bought out by a Chinese company, yet most people still think they’re American as Apple Pie

I’m still too afraid of battery powered lawn equipment’s longevity to convert. All my lawn equipment runs on good ol gasoline
Don't be afraid! I'm fully converted... lawnmower, trimmer, leaf blower, hedge trimmer and chainsaw. I won't be going back!

If I would have to choose, it would be DeWalt. I work in the woodworking industry and Milwaukee tools require a lot more replacement parts per year than DeWalt.

At home, I'm strictly Porter Cable for renovations. My wife is Makita. I gave up wrenching on cars about 10 years ago, but even then I used DeWalt.

I’d love to see a couple guys on the job site convincing each other their tool is better because of the color or the way it sounds.
I just thought it was funny that it popped up in my YT feed.

Milwaukee and DeWalt are "Green" with envy... :D

I have a 2016 DeWalt cordless drill / driver set.. and a 1940's era DeWalt radial arm saw (RAS). The RAS was my grandfathers and it still my "go to" saw for accurate cuts.

But I've never had to replace any of my Makita corded tools. They are rock solid dependable.
