Is that a lock I see? Interesting.Heavy load here. Made the rack because I am tired of always buying new stuff from Yakima/Thule

My locks are not listed on Thules website anymore but they have a similar setup on amazon.

I made my own setup with scrap I have around our shop. It helps I program lasers and brake presses for a living.

I have hauled lots of different things in the Ranger, but the heaviest was this pallet of cases of wine. Just about maxed out the payload rating @ ~1700 lbs. Really leveled out the truck and took care of the wheel gap.

This thread hasn't been updated in while. This past weekend I bought the floor model of a big Husky tool chest at the local Orange Big Box store (15% off!). Was too big to fit in between the wheels, so I had to put it on its side and get my neighbor to help me get it out once I got home.
My little helper (plus a Home Depot guy) assisted me in getting it in the truck:
This was after I pulled it out halfway (no I didn't haul it home hanging out of the truck) and realized that it was going to take more than my muscles to get it off.
