These aftermarket covers are more of a convenience than anything else. Typically when running hard/heavy and changing the gear lube every 20k or so it's nice to have a fill and drain plug for easier servicing. I had a PML cover on my Dodge Ram 2500.

What many in the Super Duty world do for the guys who tow a lot is to buy the Ford finned aluminum cover which retains the stock size, shape and capacity but will allow the oil to cool faster.

It’s also significantly cheaper than the aftermarket, and is covered under the OEM warranty !

Bringing this back from the grave... Who knows of what the bolt pattern is on the truck? I was hopping ford performance would have their diff cover listed already but they don't.

I think that technically it's the same pattern as is on the JL, but other than that it's a Dana Something 220 (I think I posted the spec sheet on the forum somewhere) :) Sorry I'm little to no help.
