Has anyone heard what the gas mileage on the new Ranger drops down to when towing? We are currently towing 5200#s with a 2010 Raptor and get 10 mph (which I understand isn't bad). I'm thinking the Ranger would get better fuel mileage but wondered if anyone has heard real life numbers yet. We might just have to add another Ranger to the stable (we currently have a '95).

There was also a video review from "Mr Truck" (he is part of the TFL Truck gang) and they did a couple of towing tests - one with a 3600 lb trailer and one with a 6300 lb trailer. If I recall correctly they were getting in the neighborhood of 13 MPG in their tests.

I won't often tow close to the rating, but I expect low twenties MPG towing my Scamp13,
@63 MPH
This is based on experience towing it with four other Tow Vehicles.
It has great aerodynamics and weighs just under 2000#.
I'll report again after I tow with it.

Scamps are so cute! Sorry, you probably don't want to hear "cute". Please, I'd like to hear what your Ranger does but I suspect it won't even know it's towing. .

Mr Truck as stated in previous post got 13.7 mpg pulling a 6300 lbs. trailer at 65 mph. This in his summary near the end of the video at the 25 minute mark.

I get "cute" at every fuel stop so its ok! I presently tow with a 2016 Transit Connect 2.5L 6SPDauto.
Last trip to Florida yielded a consistent 25MPG at 60MPH.
You are right, I'll have to check the mirrors to be sure its there.

I would be crawling all over one of those Transit Connects if they gave it the 2.0 Ecoboost, AWD and a 3500 tow rating like an Escape. Those are fantastic little vans but my trailer is a bit too much for them.

Yeah, I would love the 2.0L ecoboost ,... heck make it the 2.3L ecoboost from The RS/ Ranger while your at it !
The thing already has big brakes and handles great.

Just got back from a 1000km(620mile) trip with my snowmobile trailer which with my sled in it is around 2000lb +\-. I reset one trip meter for this and I got between 14 and 15mpg.

While not a huge weight this trailer is a brick behind you at 101" wide its much wider that the truck.

This trip had 2 lane black top and 4 lane divided highway, the first 1/3 was fairly flat lands and the rest with lots of up and down hills. There was numerous snow storms, white outs etc on the way home so, lots of up and down speeds, high winds and some 4x4 use as well.

Speeds were 55mph on 2 laners and 60-75mph highway.

That's great mpg for towing a 2K trailer. Our Escape gets about the same pulling my 2300# boat / trailer if I keep it below 65.

Same here! We researched the Transits but our trailer is much too heavy. Too bad - it would have been a nice substitute for the Fusion, except for the gas mileage. We are getting 28-32 with the eco-boost Fusion.

I towed my 3300lb 18' travel trailer a little over 200 miles this past weekend. I reset the trip odometer and MPG system and I averaged 14.4 MPG for the trip. When not towing, I am getting about 20.5 MPG.

It will be interesting to see what I get pulling this trailer. With the 'wing in the back it is around 3000#. I got just over 11mpg in my wife's 2013 F-150 when we went to South Dakota in 2016.
