I am trying to decide on a good location to install this compressor since there isn't any room under the hood, and I don't want to try to put it under the truck. I am probably going to add an air tank near the spare tire though. My purpose is to be able to use air tools so a connection will be installed near the trailer power connectors I am thinking. Just thought I'd throw it out there and see what you guys think.

Choice 1: Under the rear seat in the passenger side storage area on a tray mount.
Choice 2: In the bed of the truck on the sidewall near the cab, or the back wall at the cab.
Choice 3: Any other options anyone might provide.

I think it’s going to get hot enough that you won’t want it operating in an enclosed space. You could mount it on a trailer ball tube and insert it into the hitch receiver when you’re using it.

I mounted the system under the bed. Made a simple bracket for the tank. Mounted a digital air pressure gauge in the dash. I used a remote control system that has a key fob where you can turn it off and on remotely. Works really nice for my driving lights the air compressor system and I also run some emergency lights. All with remote control system It has four channels. Wasn't a lot of money either it's only like 50 bucks I believe. I really like the system so far.

How do you keep the compressor dry? I thought about under the truck since there is plenty of room, but water is my concern.

Water doesn't hurt it. At least the compressor I bought a lot of guys are running underneath.

But you do have to run a hose for your air filter because you don't want water going inside the compressor So you have to run a hose inside your truck for the filter.
