Hi folks,

I've done this on my previous cars so I figured why not make one for the Ranger!

A little backstory, but for the past 8 years I've been involved in the VW/Audi scene (VW Vortex, Audizine, etc) and wanted to change things up a bit. At first I was interested in the Tacoma, but the anemic drivetrain killed it for me. The Colorado also looked appealing in ZR2 guise, but the interior was too dated for me. The Frontier....lol. So that brings me to the Ranger which pretty much ticks all my boxes in what I want in a truck.

So a few weeks ago I was looking into Carvana/Vroom and was seeing some incredible offers for my GTI (thanks to COVID) so I decided to take advantage of it! I was able to find a leftover 2019 fully loaded Lariat at a dealer outside of Washington DC (Criswell Ford) that was heavily discounted. So while I was scheduling Cravana to pick up the GTI, I flew out to Washington DC, bought the truck, and drove it back 1300 miles!

Like my previous cars, I'll be going with an OEM+ build. I have an idea of what I want to do, but I'll save that all for later :). Enough typing/reading, pictures!

Model:
2019 Ford Ranger Lariat SuperCrew 4x4
Ingot Silver Exterior
Medium Stone Interior
501A Package
FX4 Off-Road Package
Sport Appearance Package
265/65/17 A/T OWL Tires
5" Black Running Boards
Hard Folding Tonneau Cover

Not sure if it counts as a "mod", but I went ahead and got the truck tinted today. I hit up a local shop (APEX Automotive for those in DFW) who is a Llumar dealer, and ended up going with Air80 on the windshield, IRX15 on the fronts, and IRX30 on the rears due to the tinted windows in the back (you can tell from the pics up top).

Only have cell snaps, but here's what it looks like in broad daylight. Heat rejection is absolutely fantastic now!

A little update, but this past week got my first batch of "mods". I picked up some Ford Performance Red Tow Hooks, the Ford Accessory Fender Vents, a Ford Performance License Plate Frame, and some Ford Accessory Rubber Floor Mats. I know it's not much compared to most, but for starters I think its fine. Also got rid of all of the badges on the rear for a cleaner look too.

Next up I'll do a XLT grille swap (not a fan of the Ranger Raptor grille personally) and the Ford Performance Fog Lamps to wrap up the cosmetic side of the truck.

Haven't updated this in a long time as I've been focused on other stuff (house projects, work, etc). But this week I took advantage (before our power went out) to take the Ranger out in the snow and grab some pics. We had to drive around and stay at friend's places who had power, but overall I'm super impressed with the truck. I didn't have a single issue in 4H in the Snow/Grass/Gravel terrain mode at all.

Nice. I purchased basically an identical truck to this last month and my first "mod" was front window tinting as well. Made a huge difference in appearance.

Been a minute since I've posted in here, but I washed it for the first time in probably 3 months so I figured I'd update the thread along with a list of things that made their way onto the Ranger.

- Fox Race Series 2.5 Coilovers
- Diode Dynamics SS3 Pro Amber Fog Lights
- Roush Cold Air Intake
- Clear Side Markers
- Ford Performance Differential Cover
- Tailgate Dampener

I also have an XLT Sport grille sitting in my shed which I'll swap out when I get color matched Ford emblems

Updating with a few more additions I put on last weekend.

Color Matched Ford Emblems
XLT Sport Grille
ADD Lite Sidesteps

I have to say I've always thought the Lariat grille looks rather...weak. The Raptor grilles are overplayed for my taste (sorry peeps who have them). So that left me with the XLT grille which I think is pretty aggressive. Topping it off with some color matched emblems from the folks at OEMAutoArt, sealed the deal for me.

I also noticed about two weeks ago that ADD stopped listing their side steps for the Ranger on their website. I asked a friend who's a distributor and he said that ADD discontinued them, but they had one pair in stock in a local warehouse. So I went ahead and snagged those since I've been looking at them for months now.

The only other thing I'm missing from the truck is putting on my Stealth Custom Series F5 wheels mostly due to the 295/70/17 BFG K02s being out of stock until the end of September. So when those are in stock, I'll get the wheels put on.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy with how the truck has turned out in my almost one year of ownership!

Decided to go ahead and order some 285/70/17 BFG KO2s last week. As it turns out with my wheel's offset, I'm glad I opted for the 285s, because the tires are just a little too close to the front bumper at full lock ?. Got with a friend and we cut the crash bars off and trimmed some of the felt fender liners as well for the clearance.

Overall, I am really really happy with how the wheel and tire setup came out. And as far as I know I'm one of the few (maybe only stateside?) Rangers with SCS wheels (they're huge amongst the Taco/4R crowd). I'm debating on getting some fender flares for the poke, but we'll see how I feel over time. I guess this wraps up the "Phase 1" portion of the truck? Next will probably be more camping/forest road related (dare I say "overlanding"), but all that can wait for now

Tires are BFG KO2 285/70/17 Load class C. Wheels are Stealth Custom Series F5 17x8.5 ET-10

Not so much as a truck update, but rather a life update. But a few weeks back we decided to move from Texas up to Washington! I was able to meet up with some other Ranger folks up here and went to an off-road course this past weekend and got to test the truck out a bit! Had total blast meeting some new people and hopefully will be able to get some more time out on the forest roads barring any getting shut down due to the conditions.

Some pics from this past weekend

They actually had some folks from a local car cleaning place there and were power washing everybody's rigs off when we left! When I got home I looked underneath and they got the majority of it off! Definitely saved me some time

Thank you! There's a few other things I want to do, but I'm pretty happy with it so far!

Also I see you're in the Seattle area, check out the PNG Ranger 5G FB group if you're able to! I know there's another event like this next month that a few of us will be at!
