I have searched but haven't yet found the answer to my question. I am interested in hearing from those of you fortunate enough to have been been behind the wheel. I have seen plenty of images that show the traditional P R N D S in the display, but once you shift into gear, does the display show the current gear the transmission is in as you drive?

I remember seeing one of the review videos showing it on the screen to the right of the speedometer of a Lariat. Not sure if XL or XLT would do it to. The video was a towing comparison between it and a Tacoma.

Thanks! I will probably end up in an XLT due to my budget, so I am interested in hearing from those with XLT or XL.

I'm pretty sure the current gear will display when using the Sport mode. Since there is only one transmission offered, it would be applicable to any trim level.

I have a Lariat, and was wondering where the current gear would be shown in the display, because it was very obvious in an F150 I test drove. I'm going to have to drop it into Sport for my drive home from work today to see if it magically appears somewhere in the screens. It seems like there's plenty of space to fit it into the existing displays, and a little disappointing that it would only show during Sport mode. Of course, it's a good excuse to pop it into Sport. ;)

Pretty sure it wll be like my Transit Connect... Sport won't even show the gear unless you "manually shift " with the plus and minus button. I too wish it was like the F-150 ... But NOOOOOOO!

When I had a Lariat out on the weekend the only place I noticed it was on the left screen in red, inside the tachometer while in sport mode.

In the TFL Ranger Vs Tacoma towing video, the current gear was displayed on the right info cluster. It might only appear when in tow/haul mode?

That's the one I was meaning in post #2. Couldn't remember which one after seeing so many different ones.

I'm sure that when the Raptor is available in the US, they'll get it too, and theirs will go to 11. ;)
Like a guitar amp?

I like the dash cluster design on the XL&T better , but it sure would be nice to have that feature!

Not sure where it appears or if my reading comprehension is adequate,
but I found this in the owner's manual....

Progressive Range Selection
Progressive Range Selection gives you the
ability to lockout gears from the automatic
shifting range. This may provide you with
an improved driving experience for
example, in slippery conditions or when
experiencing a steep slope.
With the transmission in drive (D), press
the
–
button to active PRS. The available
and selected gears appear on the
instrument cluster.
All available gears display with the current
gear indicated. Press the
–
button again to
lock out gears beginning with the highest
gear. For example, press the
–
button or
twice to lock out 10th and 9th gears. Only
the available gears display and the
transmission shifts between the available
gears. Press the + button to unlock gears
to allow the transmission to shift to higher
gears. The transmission shifts within the
gear range you select.

I came across this vid and noticed the gear IS listed in the XLT trim Ranger - timecoded video is below!
