AMP Research Power Step.
After almost a year they offered them for sale.
Worked over the weekend to install. Did Mechanical one day and the electrical the next. I like not being in a daylight rush on projects and we had some cool weather at night.
Install went OK. Many steps to the process and took my time so cables ended up in good spots. Reference Forum Member Josh Mills video, which was good help. All but lights. Once finished I installed in line fuse which is removed in early step. Learned fuses can go In backwards, as nothing happened. Flipped fuse and it worked as designed. A quick video while I was checking operation. It has a very mechanical terminator sound when operating. Will make same more videos later.

Fits and looks good with the Bushwhacker sill guards. Touches just on the rear. Plastic to plastic. Sill guards have a slight curve out at rear.
Everywhere else it is 5mm from touching.

Video used for reference.

Front turn signal LED.
With my Ranger I found that Lasfit LED bulbs work well. Nice design, normal cost and good support.
Had a bulb go out so they sent a replacement.

This front turn signal bulb comes in Amber/Amber and I think a switchback form that goes to white light if you want. I picked Amber/Amber as I like the look with my Saber Truck.
Normal lights at daytime, slightly brighter than OE, but turn signal flash is super bright. I will get some shots when it gets darker.
Driver side an easy swap, passenger side needs the air intake snorkel removed. An easier job if you remove filter and lift up on bottom of snorkel inside air box and rotate bottom out from box. Same movement for install. No error codes.
LED bulbs fit one direction so you have a 50/50 chance of getting it right the first time.
Goes how many went in correct the first time? Zero. No lottery ticket today.

You can search web site by vehicle for other bulbs that fit Ranger. China made, sorry.

If I did an exhaust.
I would like it to exit before rear wheel like my 97 F150.
They only did this for two years but also used this location on the F150 Lightning.

I see a couple options, one I found today. MRT.
Anyone else installed and have clips of this pre rear wheel unit?
Guess it is a straight pipe system. But there is room to add resonator I think.

I wouldn't recommend exhaust to be routed ahead of the rear tire in locations prone to winter wonderland conditions. Those F150's were prone to having the rear wheel freeze up when given the chance. Give it a shot though if you like it. Back pressure is a consideration in regards to torque, and I like to go w/ reputable brands, not saying MRT isn't reputable by any stretch. Hope you find the setup you're looking for. Keep us posted!

Thanks for feedback.
Always good to question things as one develops better solutions.
My 97 F150 had this and the 98 also but 99 they went to side rear. I had heard it was due to center cap discoloration which occurd but could be cleaned. Had truck 23 years but never a freeze issue but in Tennessee not a big issue. Family from Wisconsin so understand super cold is an issue. The main issue I would have to have solution for is the pipe will run under my AMP Research step motor. Have looked at a heat shield I can add to pipe and could reflective wrap the motor cover. Thinking about it. I would run a resonator or small muffler under passenger as I think straight pipe will Drone and from video testing gets louder. MRT owner worked at Ford and is around 60 so shows experience. No guarantee but something to consider.
Also from Mid West neighbor to left of Wisconsin.
Again, thanks for good points.

Like this.
No good reason but like Titanium. Also have SS version. Flow through design. Telling myself I do not need so right now just planning. Would need to verify pipe OD to insure good clamp.

Hey Pete!
Your Powersteps look great! They do sound like The Terminator! ?

I also have a Saber Ranger and was wondering if you have any pictures from the side showing the truck & steps closed; to see the orientation to the rocker panel?

From other comments, it seems the steps do not retract under the rocker, but more to cover it?

I’d like to see how the black step looks against the Saber color? (I have the Sport/Magnetic trim, so that color is around the wheel wells.)

Thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers!
~Bryan

Here is one from another member. I will take some of mine later. I have sill covers that cover the entire bottom. So the step blend in with them.
Saber pics are with Bushwhacker sill guards only installed.

The sill guards are nice! Your truck has the Sport Trim like mine and the black guards blend nicely with the Magnetic Sport Trim.

I look forward to seeing your truck from the side with the steps when you get the chance.

Thanks for the info!

Those look great and blend in nicely with your Bushwacker sill guards.

Personally, I wish they retracted more under the rocker; but this way they will certainly double protect from rock chips down there.

Thanks for the pic's!
Cheers!

Lived close to Talladega Speedway for 5 years in the late 70's early 80's. Went to every race with my Dad and Brother. Five years ago went with my Brother to a race. Do not follow NASCAR as much but have a Nephew I talk with about it. Watched a replay of Mondays 500 race at Talladega, man what a finish. A track to go to if you have never been.
