Getting the truck closer to complete for summer trips. Roof rack install was pretty easy and looks great IMO. I laid it out to fit a kayak and two bikes.

Great look. What rack are you using?
Looks like a Rhino Rack Backbone with a Pioneer Platform and it looks absolutely amazing! Wow.

What a great looking rig Andy.

What brand of rack is that? It looks slick. & I especially enjoy how close-fitting it seems to mount to the roof.
I’ve always used Yakima crossbar setups on previous vehicles—which allow for j-cradle kayak carriers as well as saddle pads for carrying flat.
How do you plan on carrying/securing your yak? … I’m intrigued to possibly venture away from a Yakima setup.

I agree with the previous comments! I think I want one. This post is over a year old, but I’ve seen this guy around recently.

It’s a Rhino Rack Backbone mounting system with a Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform mounted to it.

Installation is a serious undertaking because the NA Ranger is not setup like the ROW version. The Backbone is mounted to the roof of the Ranger in the channel that has the black plastic trim on your roof. The trim comes out, the headliner comes out (maybe you can get away with just moving the sides) and you have to drill though your roof and install nut-certs - either those or rivets. Yikes! Not for rookie shops or the faint at heart. Also, likely still not available for Scabs.

i had a similar set up on my tacoma with the ditch tracks. drilling into a roof and not hitting airbags made me sweat. but yet- i want to do the same to my new ranger because the ditch tracks are such a clean way to do a rack.
