I also encountered when installing my dampers; on the second one, I must have lifted it out of place to where it wasn’t secured in a notch/clip. It was loose and uneven when moving the tailgate. After re-securing it, it’s all good now.
Just throwing it out there as a long shot, but still a possibility.
YES!! - Shout out to Varsity Ford. Ordered Sunday and received today!!

You installed two dampers? Man you must be a real wimp,it's an aluminum tailgate you shouldn't even need one.

I know I know. But for now, this lil guy needs them. And for my new year's resolution, Im already working on it my good man...progression not perfection.

To me, 2 dampers is a bit much, it would irritate me to no end for the gate to take 5 minutes to lower fully...lol

1 damper is plenty for the featherweight tailgate.

In fact it's about perfect as the tailgate lowers smoothly at just the right speed.

The tailgate on my Pro4X always slammed for the first few inches before the damper caught.

I've a dampener kit on hold at my dealer, waiting on them to call me when my license plates are ready and get them both simultaneously.
Also intend to remove the gate to install my Putco "Black Platinum" lettering, not necessary to install the damper, but since I'm behind there...

The same exact one Fjoyner lists. DZ43206. Ford part # VKB3Z-99406A10-A
Has anyone had a deezee on their ranger a while?
I’ve had them on my ram 2500 (3) and had to stop using them because they didn’t last.
