Hi J

Thanks for the blast from the past. Missing was the diesel Ranger with a Mitsubishi 2.3L Turbo diesel, of which I built the first one at Milford fabricating... My end came with the forward model planning for the 2004 Ranger though where the big change was the addition of Tire pressuring monitoring ...

Thanks,

I wonder ...according to this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Ranger our Rangers 2019 to present are G4 not G5. I know it's wikipedia, but maybe Phil @
P. A. Schilke knows for sure?
Hi Rene,

I am a bit confused on what constitutes a next generation. However, I believe the reason is that the program to do the wholesale new Ranger, the P273 program was cancelled very late in the program by our HORRIBLE CEO, Jaques Nassar in favor of putting the funding into the luxury car market. I beileve the P273 program was 4G as it was close to production. That said, we had the Thailand Ranger and the South American Ranger at the same time, so the waters are muddied. We tried to bring the South American Ranger to the USA, as it was a SuperCrew, but Marketing killed the idea as it would not have to sales volume to support the engineering investment. Once again Ford Marketing was wrong. I was all for the SuperCrew and thought it would sell well, but Marketing had the top brass's ear...

So all this boils down to who is counting. My opinion is it is 5G....

Best.
