I'm not crazy about having trail control speed on the steering wheel. I'm curious if any has moved it to a knob somewhere on the dash. I hate to say it but I like the way the Tacoma uses a knob.

I don't know why it would be better to take your hands off the wheel for this, but to each their own I guess.

Me neither it's much more convenient on the steering wheel. Plus you're really not doing much after your initial setting as the truck takes over the gas and brakes. I've used it several times and if you want to increase/decrease your speed you just slide your thumb over and press a button without really having to take your eyes off the trail. IIRC the Tacoma one was overhead which I think is much more distracting.

Yes, the Tacoma one is over the rearview mirror on the roof.

It also sounds like a small-arms insurgency when in operation.

while we are at it, can we rig the drivers window into a mouse wheel on the gearshift?
Be so much easier to roll the window up and down to exactly where I want it
I know you're joking, but honestly, I'm here for this one. That would be amazing!

Yeah, that would be great but I'm high-falutin' and I want it to be an Apple Magic Mouse type touch control.

Seriously though, that does sound like it would be cool.

I've done it a couple of times and couldn't figure out how I did it till I caught myself doing it. I always plug in my phone and toss it into the cubby by the USB outlet, While doing so I bumped my phone into the dial and it went right into 4x4.

The 4x4 dial and the buttons right next to it are in a horrible position along with the HVAC controls not being lit up are my only two gripes with this truck (Ford if you are listening FIX THIS!!!! thank you! lol)

Wait, what controls are you saying aren't lit? I can't recall any of my HVAC controls being dark at night.

As for the 4x4 dial, I agree. It moves too easy and even the carwash I got a few weeks ago, they bumped it pulling it out after they finished with it. I'm just glad it also has a dash indicator so when you can't see the dial in the sun it's still easy to tell where it is.

Something i noted on my unlit hvac controls...

I always run my dash lights dim. I dont like the bright at night.

One night i was playing with it though, and went full dim, then full bright.

The hvac controls lit up.

So i dimmed back down to a level i liked and they stayed on.

I didnt play with it further, but i was happy to know theres lights
HVAC buttons lit up with headlights off?

That sounds less like a design issue and more a sunglasses issue :p

But honestly, those lights are not nearly bright enough to be useful during the day (I've never been in a vehicle where they are). A bit of an angle on that center console would've been nice though.
