Upgrade Brake Pads / Calipers

Starting this thread for hopeful future brake pad upgrades and big brake kits.

Pedders has the TrakRyder eXtreme Brake Kit coming out "Spring 2020".
Features:
• Stainless steel braided hoses
• 10 slot and dimpled TrakRyder geomet coated rotors 14”/356mm diameter (OE 12.2”/310mm)
• TrakRyder eXtreme Kevlar Ceramic low dust brake pads
• TrakRyder eXtreme 6 pot design caliper brackets and bolts
• 6 Pot, 2 piece aluminium forged calipers

However, I'd bet they will cost 3-5k. Which is overkill for these trucks AND most likely will need 18" wheels to fit.


I emailed EBC and Hawk Performance with no response. Im not sure if our brakes are the same spec as the global Ranger. I ran EBC redstuff pads on my past vehicles and they did improve the fade resistance and initial bite which I like.

Anyone with some info on the matter feel free to chime in!

Tracking your Ranger? Would work great with the folks looking to lower their Ranger for street performance. Sounds like a pretty serious setup...I've done the same with my Mini and Cobalt and they help mitigate fade and greatly improve pedal modulation

Well I keep adding stuff to my truck hah. Bigger tires, bumpers, tent, camping gear.. ect. All this adds up and takes longer to slow down the truck. I’d like to keep it all in check with more stopping power.

I would be interested in some better pads and maybe rotors to help with extra weight and towing performance/ fade resistance
but definitely not interested in a full on 'big brake' setup.

They do not make big brakes.

Not all ceramic pads are low dust. The way these behave when cold vs hot, ie: they perform much better with heat in them makes me want to lean towards them being cheap ceramic pads. And I too would love some different pads than these. I suspect they are part of the cause for the inconsistent pedal feel as well.

$0 cause I didn't ask for a quote. They break out general pricing ahead of putting in a request, and it felt like I was heading towards eight grand front and rear with no idea if they would actually be compatible.

I hope they did the research because I ordered mine from PB brakes and they sent me the international ones which didn't fit the first time. I had to have them make another set of mounting brackets for them to fit. The offset is different.

I had a set of Wilwood calipers adapted to use the factory focus st rotor. Very cost effective upgrade and the increased pedal feel was really noticeable. Plus the calipers looked cool. Wish that vendor made a kit for the ranger.

Hey guys. I've been debating doing this and wanted y'alls opinion since it's a lot of money to drop for something not yet proven.

I've got stock 18" wheels from the something, something-whatever package from Ford. I've been looking about and saw Wilwood makes a brake kit meant for GMC/Chevy trucks as well as the Escalade that looks like it'll work for my Ranger.
