Also... here is the relay setup I used for the auxiliary reverse lights so they come on automatically and with a switch in the cab.

But instead of tapping into the tail light I used pin #7 on the trailer plug since I have the trailer tow package.

Did mine on the headache rack. I’d recommend cheap Amazon lights like the brand Nilight. Cheap and work great. Rigid and other high end brands are outrageous unless you’re racing the Baja 1000 or something.

Hey Guys
Has anyone thought of using the cargo lights as additional backup lighting. Current gen Frontiers use this. I had replace the cargo light with high lumen LEDs, made a big difference with BU camera.
As my truck is less than 1 month old I am not quite ready to start hacking into wire harnesses, but this is on my future mod list. Will use same basic relay plan ISUACE shared, but no need for a switch as there already is one.

Did an upgrade today after psyching myself up to cut holes into my trucks bumper.

I layed out masking tape and measured many times to make sure it was were I wanted them with a template. Basically they are centered between the reverse sensors and they clear bumper bracket mount on the back side. Be sure to check this!!

Drilled pilot holes first and then final drilled the bolt holes and corners of the rectangle. From there it was all cut with a Dremel. I bought metal cutting disks just for this job.

Painted the exposed cut metal and bolts. Then hooked everything back up from my previous work above.

The complete kit from Baja Designs is only designed to come on with the reverse lights. However we sell a separate custom harness that can be hooked up to a switch so that you can have dual control over the lights.
They are connected to one of my Trigger 3000 power box under the hood...the line runs along the frame rail all the way to the rear...

How do you like Trigger setup? Have you had any issues with it?

Love them...zero issues...just wish they made a Ranger specific hardwire magnet mount...the one that came with the kit is for Jeeps...eventually I'll figure a way to use that so the switch pod can be hardwired...for now they work with button batteries...but I worry that if the battery burns out while my lights are on, they may be stuck on lol...so I use the iphone app to control the lights for now...:)

I started a thread to use the cargo lights as the extra reverse lights.
Do this after upgrading to bright ass LEDs!

Another option is the Baja Designs S2 reverse kit. It's a complete kit (brackets, hardware, wiring, lights, etc) that does not require you cutting holes in the bumper. And at 1130 lumens each, these little lights pack a punch!

I have these for awhile now...Thanks @OffroadAlliance.
Baja Design ligthts are simple to install, and great quality lights imho.
