As a 15 year tech and tech support veteran, I agree with you. Technical debt is high and many people are going to suffer because of it.
I've been doing this gig for 30 years now - hard to believe. It seems like the only thing that matters these days is what it looks like (it has to be "pretty") and that you have to constantly add new "features". I tell people it doesn't make any difference what it looks like if it doesn't work, but that argument seems to fall on deaf ears....

There are days I'm amazed that anything works to be honest....

Out of curiousity, does anyone have a pic of what the 3.4 home screen looks like?

I’m going for it!! I downloaded and updating 3.4 as I type this. I have my truck connected to a 6amp battery tender. I hope it keeps the truck on through the update.

Did you have the charger set on 6amp? I have an older 2amp/6amp charger and want to use it to do the update.

I had it set to 6amps. The update took just over 30 minutes. The update has a timer on the screen counting the minutes for you. Glad I was sitting in the truck right when it completed because it only gave a few seconds warning that the update was complete and you need to remove the USB as it restarts on its own.

Since you're already there, update to 19274 apps and core voice files like the others. It's quite a bit better overall from 19101.

Any noticeable speed improvement? Any issues?
Everything was working without a glitch, including Apple CarPlay. However, after backing out of a parking spot leaving the store, the rear view camera displayed normally except when I would get up to speed (I had the rear camera set to delay) I would get a blue screen. The only way to clear the blue screen is to select the X at the upper left of the screen. I tried reverse repeatedly with the same results.

If I switch to Park, the blue screen goes away on its own. I turned off the camera delay and that eliminated the blue screen between park and drive. It’s just when I have the camera delay turned on that when I switch from reverse to drive and reach the speed that turns the rear camera off, I get a solid blue screen. Bummer! Anyone have any ideas?
