Are WeatherTech mudflaps a good product?

I purchased a set of the WeatherTechs (from their website) this past Tuesday and received them Thursday. I am impressed with the expedient shipping time! Of course it probably helped that I am a state next to from where they were shipped from!

Now for an install question: Any recommendations in surfacing any painted areas where the flaps come into contact with a paint protectant film (3M)? I'd like to keep those areas of my Ranger scuff-free if possible, and this is the only way i could think of to do so. Has anyone here done this before install? Thanks!

I personally discarded the films and shrugged it off as not needed. I also got my floor jack out and removed the front wheels which made the front installations a breeze. The only dislike I have on them are they're stiff so off road may be a challenge for their durability.
Very happy with them so far.
