So I have a 23’ Forest River Evo and it’s 5800’ dry. I for one did not like towing without WD hitch, to be fair I probably am towing too large of a surface area than it should be. But I also think the super wimpy sidewall stock tires had something to do with it. Now I have Cooper discoverer st Maxx 10 plys. So between the WD hitch and the anti sway setup it towed ok. Really hoping these tires help, I think they will

Do you have a towing mirror recommendation? TIA

The BLISS trailer blind spot monitoring worked flawlessly. Interestingly it jumps from an 18' trailer to a 21' trailer in the settings, so I set it for 21'. The side mirrors are barely adequate for towing the 19' Caravel. ANY LONGER trailer and you would need towing mirrors. I tried the Dometic clamp on mirrors and they worked great. The rear camera was also a big help when switching lanes.
I think one can safety tow any of the Caravel trailers with the Ranger, but you will need towing mirror extensions on the 22' model and a properly sized and setup WD hitch with sway control. I think in all but the most extreme towing cases one should expect 12-15 mpg towing this combo.

Will be towing our 20' GeoPro south for Jan-Mar again this year. Would like to try the new Ranger we recently purchased, rather than taking the F-150 this year. Thank you for your review. We will be putting on higher quality shocks while in the south. My main concern is towing mirrors. You mentioned the Dometic clamp ons and I'm also considering the Fit System 3891 mirrors. Did you find any complaints about the Dometic clamp on mirrors.? Thanks again so very much for your full review.

I use the Dometic mirrors as well. They work good.

That silver looks phenomenal with the chrome package. I like Chrome. Is it a clean hard to scratch. And the wheels always look clean until you run your finger across them and grab some brake dust. Silver and white seem to be the most popular colors followed by black in the US. I choose white so it doesn't look dirty even though it does have a film of dirt on it you can't tell without swiping it with your finger. I think silver looks good with Black as well. I haven't seen a Ranger with the new black out kit instead of magnetic trim. I imagine the black trim would look really good on Silver

No need for sway bar / leveling system, I’ve towed my Airstream flying Cloud 19 all summer with 600lbs camper system in the bed and had no issue. Just make sure your truck / trailer are very level. For those who are wondering the Ranger is an awesome tow vehicle!
Is your truck leveled or lifted? Looks great with those tires.....

Sir, what brake controller did you use and did you install it yourself? My trucks on order and am trying to figure out if I should install myself or have Ford screw me with there "approved" controller.
Thanks Rob

If you're reasonably inclined, you can have the best of both worlds. You can get the towpro Elite and install it using Ford's install procedure posted elsewhere on this forum.

Personally I have been running a Teknosha P3 Prodigy since February without issues. If I was not paying attention and let emergency braking do a full stop while towing I'd probably have a bad day, but unfortunately I had been towing for months before Ford had a "compatible" brake controller.

I'll keep running what I have until Ford agrees to install the TowPro Elite for free.
