Replaced my DPFE sensor.

On the initial drive the transmission seems to shift better but time will tell.

The truck is 6.5 years old and 41k miles.

I was very surprised at how much moisture was in the sensor.

I replaced just the sensor and reused the existing hoses, replacing the crimp clamps with fuel injection clamps.

I swear I think Ford engineering teams gather round to see how each team can design their part to be inaccessible due to another part.

The spring clamps were a pain to get to.

Fortunately I have this handy dandy spring clamp tool kit for just such an occasion.

I ended up using the flexible cable set as the others always interfered with the firewall, a hose, a wiring loom, the gravitational tug of the moon, etc.

And this comes in mighty handy for working on a Ranger with a slight lift.

Now at least the next time it should be much quicker and easier.

Based on the amount of moisture that was in it, I think I'm going to make this a 30k maintenance item.
Have you got a link for that step?

I wanted to mount my shovel on the inside of the door but I could not afford the price of the Dirtbox Overland molle panels so I mocked up a bracket in AutoCAD and sent it to my 3D printer. We will see how it holds up.

That should be helpful. You know, it never occurred to me that sliders could be swapped out for windoors but it makes total sense that it would be a very straightforward change.

Did you have a local Ranch topper dealer do that for you?
Yep. They got the serial number off the topper gave that to Ranch and ordered parts. I will tell you that those windows are not cheap so don’t have a sticker shock heart attack if ya look into it 😂

Took advantage of some nice spring weather & lubed my spline. Like most not much from the factory. 43,000 7yrs old this June. Put some in the female side just didn't take a picture.
Yesterday I changed coolant, air & cabin filters in our CR V. Bought 2 gallons of coolant from Rockauto with delivery & tax for 8 dollars & change cheaper than buying local. 🤔

Thanks. Good thing is you don't need a 10mm. Side note I did not remove the rubber boot. I squeezed lube on the splines & used a small fine brush to move it all in place.

Well at least they're trying.

Here's another case of "just do it right the first time" but that's not applicable now. I know that updates are needed with any software but you really shouldn't be having them repeatedly. One of my phone apps had 3 in the matter of 2 days. I swear they just make changes, don't test them, and let the public be the test dummies now.

Maybe the person who is controlling all of the updates fell asleep at the controls and accidentally pushed the update button again lol.

Or Microsoft pushed an update to a previous update to their server...
