It probably runs better that way than it did from the factory. lol
Years ago I had a friend who purchased jaguar new, then promptly had the drive train replaced with a GM 350 V8 engine / transmission kit that was designed just for that purpose. The factory drive train was that unreliable and expensive to repair. He told me he stored the original drive train and when he planned to sell the car years later he's let the OEM drive train go with the car.

Crazy logic, but he led me to believe it was common.

There was a running joke that if you bought a Jag you needed to buy a second one. Because you'll need one to drive while the other is in the shop. lol

If you watched Kid Rock's alternative super bowl show, apparently it didn't get much viewership, meanwhile Jelly Roll is down to 265 lbs from a high of 540 lbs. Maybe he should change his name to flauta roll.

From aol :
Just hours after being brutally mocked and roasted online over his controversial ‘All-American Halftime Show’ on February 8, Kid Rock issued a cryptic response amid the backlash.

The 55-year-old was dragged by viewers over the conservative event held by Turning Point USA (TPUSA), which was a direct rival to the official NFL halftime performance by Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny.

Kid Rock’s event was labeled “Temu Halftime,” “Redneck Halftime,” and even led some netizens to joke that it looked like it was held in a Dollar Tree parking lot.

One critic bluntly commented, “Kid Rock is a grandpa who was born rich and complains about not getting enough attention.”

I watched some of the TPUSA show, and cut it off when Kid Rock came on. I was not at all impressed with him, and overall a little disappointed at the whole show.
Hopefully next year's show will be a marked improvement.

pic of kid rocks parents home in MI , far from growing up impoverished as at times he has identified as being a poor southern lad , kid rock is reportedly worth $150m so he's done alright for himself.

I didn't watch any of it but did see on the news this morning that it brought in 26 million viewers (so far recorded) from all the different platforms. I think those numbers are pretty good considering many like myself just don't like or care enough about the NFL anymore and certainly won't waste my time watching a halftime show done in Spanish.

I like Kid Rocks music but don't care for the theatrics. But I feel this way about all of them. Stick to music or whatever you do and leave all the other nonsense behind.

I'm long since done with the NFL. It went from a sport to entertainment years back. Then into pushing ideology. I view the NFL akin to Roller Derby or WWE - World Wrestling Entertainment. At least the WWE is honest about it. They literally tell you it is fake.

Haven't tuned in to the Olympics either.

I still watch college footbalI, but once they started paying players it really ought to be off campus as a college education has nothing to do with it any longer... they are now simply the minors for the NFL.

Yes the NFL is a hugely successful business, the cost of going to a Denver Broncos football game for a family of four with upper level seats was pegged at nearly $1200. I used to attend sporting events when I lived in Denver but companies I worked for had season tickets so usually went for free. Betting on sports is reportedly as high as $150 billion annually in the US , and people complain how broke they are. Hower last week I took my daughter to a Denver Nuggets game, decided to get good seats as anymore I rarely attend professional sports, tickets were $230 per seat, parking $40, a 12 oz beer $15 , many people buying sports merchadise and overpriced food.
I think part of why the NFL choose Bad Bunny for half time because they are eying expansion outside of the US and many spanish speaking countries are fanatical football (soccer) fans.

I don't care about any other countries fans. The Super Bowl is here (for now but I'm sure this will change soon $$$) and should be 100% in English. Most sports are way overpriced now and yes, it's a business but they're doing the same thing to their fans as car manufacturers are doing to their customers. Putting them last. I'm sick of financing these multi million/billion dollar stadiums through our tax dollars when the owners are all billionaires. As Tony @TJC said football use to be fun but not anymore, at least for me. Players like Kyler Murray (QB for the Cardinals) are paid $136 million for doing nothing. He's only made it to one playoff game which was a couple years ago and got blown out in it. Call me crazy but they should have to prove themselves before being signed to multi million dollar contracts. I still have our season tickets but haven't stepped foot inside the stadium to see a game since 2019. I sell them to someone I know and he buys the whole season which this year was $5,200. I guess this isn't bad considering they're on the 40 yard line, 12th row behind the bench, but they're a loosing team and the games weren't really fun anymore.

Now they're having all these overseas games which only screws the local fans because they lose a home game. This year some of the playoff games were on Prime instead of your local channels. Mark my words in another year or two you'll have to pay for ALL the playoff games. People just keep paying for it but I'm not wasting my money or time anymore. I got drawn in the lottery (season ticket holders ) for Super Bowl tickets 2 years ago when it was in Glendale, AZ. You'd think after having season tickets for 13 year you'd get you own seats. Nope, they were nosebleed seats because they can make more money selling my good seats to some sucker willing to pay $10K/each for them. 🤬

College football was great until they started paying them and changed the playoffs and rules. I still watch it but that's getting tougher to do now. Hockey is the only sport I still love and watch and so far they haven't ruined it....yet. Ok rant over. lol

.Agree with a lot of what you are saying, my perspective on the NFL is largely from a business perspective - it is extremely well managed, they don't divulge how much the owners are making and I still am surprised that the players union largely goes along with the owners wishes. In Denver the team is owned by the Penner group - part of the Walton family and the Nuggets and Avalanche are owned by the Kroenkes - billionarires all.
But the affordability/cost arguement is many decades old and people continue to pay the price. I remember as a youngster growing up in Buffalo NY back in the 60s and the Bills had won the AFL, I stopped with my father at a nearby beverage distributor and saw a big well muscled guy stacking pallets - I recognized him as Tom Day a star defensve player, I chatted with him and asked why he was working there - he said he wasn't paid enough from football alone and had to work in the offseason to support his family.

Larry Little, the multiple 5 year 1st team all pro, inducted into the football hall of fame. #79 of the top 100 players of the game by The Sporting News in 1999.

He was my middle school counselor off season. Broke up a fight between me and another kid in the school cafeteria. He just reached down and picked us up by our collars - game over! Just like that. The man was BIG!

In 1973, he was the first guard to make $100K. And that was a lot of money back then..... but no where near the $100+ Milion contracts of today. BTW, he signed wtih San Diego because their signing bonus was bigger then Miami's offer... It was $750.

That's the thing the owners are paid (by the NFL) millions whether they win or lose. Here's a figure that'll blow your socks off.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/how-nfl-teams-and-owners-make-their-money/ar-AA1pDLL4

In 2024, NFL teams received nearly 14 billion, or 433 million apiece, from leaguewide media, sponsorship, licensing and merchandise deals, which represented 62% of total team revenues.
Here's the network contracts. Add this to the sports betting and you can see why it's a multi billion dollar business and why these owners love Goodell. With all this revenue you'd think they could make the ticket prices and concessions a little more reasonable:question:

I thought the TPUSA event did an impressive number considering it wasn't on any traditional channels. If you wanted to see it you had to physically seek it out and find it.

Very few of the people at the SB party I attended watched BB. A few were curious, one guy was a big fan. A few of us watched TPUSA on a secondary TV. Lots of people did other "stuff"

The NFL has slowly turned me off over the years. I used to watch every game that came on. Now I watch my team and if there's a decent game on an I'm not doing anything I'll watch it. Sticking games on all the different streaming services irritates all the fans I know. I find myself watching more and more college football. The transfers are wearing one me. I think the kids should get one anytime xfer and another one if the coach leaves or is fired. If you graduate and have eligibility remaining you can change schools.

Those ufc fighters seem to earn their keep, sometimes beating each other to bloody pulps. I've taken to watching some clips of the lady fights on Facebook, you couldn't pay me enough to get in the octagon with any of them . Like others on here have stated my viewing of sports has been on the decline for yrs, have gotten more discriminating on what to watch and find myself checking on games in the 2nd half to see if it's worth watching and with warm sunny weather extending into the winter I'm often doing something outdoors.
