Please tell me more about your last bullet- Replace rubber door window trim.I was thinking of the "What did you do to your truck today" thread and it got me off on what I need to do and I keep slacking on.
Here is GLOCKer's list of Ranger stuff he needs to do but keeps putting off:
- Clean up and paint roof trim where the black has flaked off the aluminum.
- Replace my EGR sensor with the new one that's been sitting in my garage for months.
- Repaint my ARB front bumper.
- Wash and WAX my truck to protect it from the harsh Florida elements.
- Clean up some under-hood wiring for the auxiliary lighting and winch.
- Replace rubber door window trim.
Done.Make another run to Lone Star Conversions.
Order
Ford PERFORMANCE Ranger grill
4 off road lights-2 in the bumper and 2 ditch lights installed by Lone Star Conversions, because I am not good at electrical stuff
Later after that is done, go back up there and order a set of Bilstein 5100 shocks and have them installed.
And call it good.
Maybe........
Just my two cents Jon, that setup on your Scab would really give it an old school vibe. IMHONEED and WANT are two different things, but.....
I WANT a 4" lift and 35's on Fuel or RTR wheels but if I do then it won't fit in my garage.![]()
I know.Just my two cents Jon, that setup on your Scab would really give it an old school vibe. IMHO![]()

As far as shocks go, I'm happy with my Bilstein shocks and struts.Soon to need oil change, gonna do a coolant service (suggestions wekcomed!), and I know I need rear shocks (weeping a little at 50K miles).
So I guess these are Needful Things![]()
I stopped doing full flushes with water. On a few previous vehicles I had the water pumps crap out within a month of flushing, probably due to lack of lubrication. These days I just drain and refill the radiator every 50,000 miles. Fastest way is to just pull off the lower hose. Prestone Platinum coolant is compatible with the factory stuff.Soon to need oil change, gonna do a coolant service (suggestions welcomed!), and I know I need rear shocks (weeping a little at 50K miles).

I have the Timbren Off Road bump stops and tow our 4100 lb travel trailer fine with zero issues. Got mine off E Trailer.oh boy. A DREAMER'S THREAD! i've trained for this moment my whole life (not really).
buys:
- Eibach suspension upgrade.. still rockin the stock FX4's at 88k miles and it blows.
- leaf springs but don't know which. i want some better comfort over bumps. suggestions welcome.
- improved bump stops, i'm thinking sumosprings for when i pull a 4500ish lb trailer
- UCAs of some kind, i think.
- PPE transmission pan (standard or deep, no idea which)
- hellwig sway rear sway bar might be nice for control.
- new headlights. stock XLT halo's blow harder than the suspension. i'm thinking alpharex novas.
- livernois tune (still on the stock tune)
- some kind of bronze wheels with some beefier falken tires to contrast my black paint
- window tint
- new center console lid, the stock from 2019 stitching is letting loose and driving me nuts
- ford grill.. i've always liked the look even tho it's everywhere
- katzkin leather seats because cleaning the dog fur out of these cloth seats is gonna be the death of me
maintenance/go-do's:
- transmission fluid flush. i'm gonna let the dealer do it first and break that fill bolt loose. then i'll install my fitztick that's been sitting in my garage for 6 months. from there i'll be more hands on about these fluid changes.
- front brakes will need replaced soon, thankfully have rotors and pads waiting.
- get this thing properly detailed as it has never been.
i very nearly bought a new ram 1500 with the hemi this past week for like 21% off. amazing deal, but ultimately got scared off by reliability horror stories. shame. i really freakin liked that ram. super nice.
shopped an f-150 after the ram and it's nice and all but just doesn't light my heart on fire. not like that ram hemi did. and it's slightly more expensive.
i can do all of the above for somewhere between $7k-9k. buying a new truck for $40k-50k out the door (after trade, tax, title, etc) just gets me a truck i'll wanna put money into in a few years. so maybe i should have some fun for a few more years with this ranger, eh? or maybe i'll cave and go to the full size lol
Try and get the Eibach ASAP and you'll wonder how you drove it stock for so long after you do. This (besides the damperoh boy. A DREAMER'S THREAD! i've trained for this moment my whole life (not really).

Since I want to do UCAs and leaf springs later, should it all be done at once or are the eibachs fine going on on their own? Something Iāve wondered.Try and get the Eibach ASAP and you'll wonder how you drove it stock for so long after you do. This (besides the damper) was the best mod I had done to my '19 Ranger and you'll see the difference instantly! Much smoother ride and no rear end wollowing over bumps. Even mall speed bumps are much smoother. lol
The Livernois tune was a very close second. It really wakes the 2.3 up and it shifts much smoother. Adding these will make you feel like you're in a new truck without spending $50K on one.![]()
You don' need no stinkin' damper!Since I want to do UCAs and leaf springs later, should it all be done at once or are the eibachs fine going on on their own? Something Iāve wondered.
Iām still resisting the damper tho. Caveman brain.
