Sadly the surrounding residents there are going to have to suffer from this. It's bad enough when they explode in your garage but these plants are dangerous to all those in the area. Before someone says "But oil rigs explode too" yes they do but they don't endanger thousands of people living around it. But they do endanger our waters so there's that too.

What about the oil refineries that are inland? Just Google "Marathon Refinery Fire Louisiana" if you don't remember it from last year.
