Am I nuts to trade up . My current 22 runs good and have a number of upgrades on it . The 24 V6 is more refined and more power but man the price and the dealers are difficult to deal with . Little or no discounts on what is a leftover now that the 25s are in production

Personally I wouldn't buy a first year run vehicle. Made that mistake a couple times (truck, motorcycle and snowmobile) and have always had issues. Not that you can avoid them (especially now post 2020) but it seems like the first year you're the test dummy. Unless there are other options or reasons I don't think the V6 alone is worth trading up for. Now if it were the Raptor I "might" consider it but there's nothing about the new 6G that makes me say "I gotta have it". If you're looking for more power I'd just tune it and call it a day.

Job 1 for the 2025’s starts in January. Order banks might be open now. So if you ordered a 2025 today you would not see it until maybe February.

Correct, then the following years, when you realize how good the truck is, then they start deleting things lol
You need to do what I did. Buy the 1st year, total it, then strip it down and add all the deleted parts to your new one. ?

Depends if you want the upgraded tech/interior or exterior looks. If you want more power, just do a tune if you don't have one already. I would just think about it with what are the differences between the two and is it worth the upgrade costs.

For me, I personally won't upgrade because tunes and basically all mods are not allowed anymore in CA.... Only upgrade for me would be the Raptor cause I don't want to downgrade in power and pay more.

Is it the 3.0 TT v6? you know of the Raptor line.. I’d say go for it ?
If not.. eh I’d stay in the 5th gen..
But I’m not you.. get what makes you happiest.

The Ford Performance tune basically gets you the same ooomph from our engine.

The V6 is disappointing. 315hp/400tq

We're running 270hp/310tq, the FP tune adds 45hp/60tq bringing you to.......315hp/370tq, add a high flow cat and you'll exceed what the V6 is doing for under $1500 or you could trade up for what?

I'm doing exactly this. Cat and a FP tune. Maybe an intercooler down the road.

The other thing I might mention - while the 10R80 has its quirks, it seems our little 2.3 is a mighty solid power plant. I've heard less than stellar things about the 2.7, however.

For me, the 6G doesn't have anything that would entice me to trade at this point. I'd love a Raptor but I can't possibly justify it, and they are really out of my price range. I couldn't believe I spent 40k on a truck when I bought mine and that is cheap now.

It doesn't add up quite that way. The gains from the tune are elsewhere in the power range, so you can't just add them to the top numbers of the base tune.

Bit of marketing trickery on Ford's part.

You don't think they're already cherry picking those numbers from the power band where they're highest?

Nobody drives around where these numbers are pulled from but it gets the motorheads tight in the pants

I'd say, visit the 6G Forum and explore problems there. Seems like a few have electrical problems.
The first 2.7s were just delivered recently. IIRC, order banks and specs for MY25 should be available 10/25.
