I hope it stays away from here for a while but at the same time I can’t wait to try my new fat bike out in the snow. I’m surprised none of our Alberta members posted about what some of them got last week. Up to 95cm... 37 inches!!

This car buried under the snow is what happens here when the college students go home for Xmas vacation and leave their cars on the street

Looking forward to putting the Ranger through the winter ringer in a few months!

This picture I took always make me COLD....and I'll UP the ante here...two pictures of snow piles reaching a two story parking garage by me. Last winter with the Tacoma, off in the woods down some tight trails.

Ugh, a lot of us early adopters had our Rangers for a good portion of last winter and I'm not looking forward to months of this crap again. Spring and Fall are my favorites, you can take Summer and Winter!

We should be getting our first snowfall later this week/weekend here in Duluth. Won't stick all that well since the ground is still pretty warm. Already got some snow up in Northern Minnesota early last week. Getting about that time. It's gonna be another long and snowy winter here, I can already tell. I'm always excited for the first snowfall and through the first couple months, but once the bitter cold of -70 hits in February, it starts to get a little old.

I'm going to go against the grain here and admit I'm super excited for snow. In PA we don't get a ton, but here's to hoping. Last winter we got about a foot during one storm which basically shut down the town, and I used my old truck to tow the lil brother snowboarding. Planning the same thing this year.

Oh, I'm excited, for the first couple months. But 7-8 months of winter really starts to wear you down. The first snow in early-mid October is exciting and fun to play around in. The 10" of wet heavy snow at the end of May is not usually regarded quite as well.

I'm excited about the snow this year with the Ranger, I had to survive the polar vortex here in Michigan with a Fusion Hybrid. Got used to shoveling out the vehicle before even attempting to back out of a parking spot.

Only thing i'm not looking forward to is dealing with all the other drivers... You'd think after a week of terrible snow everyone would figure out how to drive, but when we got the first snow after a 4-day break this is what we have to deal with:

We get the same thing with rain. A little rain and my 10-mile commute becomes a 1-hour commute...

Saw many of those back when I lived in the N'east after the first snowfall. It's usually the soccer mom in her SUV who "thinks" just because she has 4 wheel drive she can still drive like an maniac.

Us central/southern California people only have to deal with snow when we go up in the mountains for fun, for those of you who do live in the snow, do you ever bother with chains? I’m used to rally car driving my Fiesta in the snow with chains on which was a blast, driving my super duty in muddy fields (ag industry,) and ripping around in RZRs.. Obviously 4wd provides more traction accelerating but I’ve found chains help out most with braking and turning.. thoughts?
