I own (2) forecast devices, but I'm afraid to use them. Anyone know how to either lower the volume or eliminate the noises from exiting with the keys double honk, &/or the volume /sensitivity of the back up camera noise? Thanks in advance!

Double Honk - Disable req's Forscan, after about 5 times of that thing going off - I DISABLED it.

Backup Cam (Cross Traffic) & Parking Sensor Warning Volume. (?)

You may try - as I believe its tied into the (Navigation) Voice Over
Get the navigation (to verbally give directions) and turn the volume knob down or park close to something (front) to trigger the Parking Sensors (and TRY lowering the volume)

My park and cross traffic are not that loud, not annoyingly anyway. I do believe the cross-traffic is louder. I use the front parking sensors every day, pulling into garage.
When it goes full red, I am perfectly spaced from my compressor and garage door and have just enough room to squeeze between the front or rear of truck with the garage door closed.
I will (TEST) tomorrow if I can adjust the volume of it. (I doubt I can, but now I am curious)

I do believe (not confirmed) that the Cross-Traffic can be set to visual only in the IPC menu screen.
Not confirmed as I would have to check on my truck or you can turn it off.

Cross- traffic? What model do you own?
Mine is a 2019 Lariat crew.

Also, what exactly are the steps I need to take with Forscan?

Thanks!

Now if all chimes are affected - different higher pitch tones than usual.
I would check battery voltage (as this) has been reported as an issue, low battery voltage changes the pitch and tone of the chimes.

You may also try a - IPC Self-Test (reset) with a scanner or Forscan, as the chime control is through the IPC.
The IPC is the master controller for the Chimes - Volume Level & Source Output and Chime (alert) level (speed of the chime) etc

But many other modules tie in, but the main ones are the BCM & ACM
So, you can do a Self-Test on those modules as well.

Since I had to go to garage for something, I popped in and did a quick check.
You can turn off Cross-Traffic via IPC Menu
You can turn off parking sensor - via hard button switch on the console

The chimes are split between the Rear Speakers and Center Speaker, depending on chime.
The Turn Signal (Click) is internal of the IPC and the IPC is a back-up to the speaker (audio system) chime outputs.

Question - Where is the chime sound coming from? IPC, Center or Rear Speakers
Is this a stock audio system or upgraded?

Have you tried updating Sync to vs 23188?

So, IF this annoyingly LOUD then there is an issue with the chimes circuit.
but to confirm you are talking about the rear parking sensors or cross-traffic alerts vs a (Add-On) back-up alarm.

22 Lariat - Crew.

Cross- Traffic triggers by using the BLIS system and if in reverse and it picks up a vehicle coming from either side of the truck - it triggers warning chime.

So, I am assuming you are talking about the rear parking sensors, that turn amber and red when you are in reverse and close to an object as being the source of the annoying chime.

For the Double-Honk disable - when Forscan loads the modules.
Click on the (microchip)icon - Config & Programming
and locate BCM (body control module) the easy way (not the BCM - As-Built)

Scroll down till you see - I think its worded like - Dbl Honk upon exit of cabin
click on that and you should see an option to disable it.

From here as it's been a while since I used Forscan to change anything, I think you have to click on the (checkmark) and then at the bottom of the screen (click write)

You will hear a chime (on the truck) and you will see a massage on your (laptop) screen to cycle the ignition.

I suggest watching a few videos on how to make changes to familiarize yourself, it's not hard, it's just hard to explain step by step in writing.

and they (the videos) will show you how to do the (Self-Tests) as the self-tests are basically a reset of the module and wipes any failure codes that are locked into the module - so basically a reboot of the module.

But to ISOLATE your issue with the chimes, is this the only chime affected or does the front ones do the same? Parking Sensor circuit
or does this affect ALL chimes.
More specific - when you go into reverse, and you have (NO OBSTICALS) behind you does the chime sound and one of the sensors on the Rear Camera Screen (Red / Amber)
If this is the case, then you have a failed sensor - you have 4 on the rear bumper
or
Is this only when it picks up an obstacle? (normal operation) and the chime is louder than normal.

Just trying to get a clear picture of your issue, Chime Circuit or Parking Sensor Circuit as I see you have owned the truck awhile, so I assume this issue just started.

Yes I have 23188 & yes, these are from the factory (not add ons)

All the modules that tie into the Parking Sense circuit are:

PAM - Parking Assist Module
IPC - Ins Panel Cluster
BCM - Body Control Module
ACM - Audio Cont Module
DSP - The B&O Amp

If this is only with the Parking Sensor Circuit, I would look for a code in the PAM and if no code do a self-test - reset - as this is the module the parking sensors are talking to.

Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
I absolutely DESPISE that double honk. Hate it with a passion. It honestly sends an instantaneous jolt of anger through me whenever I accidently set it off.

But.... I'm a complete chickenshit over the idea of plugging a computer into my truck and attempting anything. Serious scaredy-cat on that topic. Related bumper sticker would read "I is skeer'd!!!!"

It's really a piece of cake. Either take pictures or write down the hex code before you change anything. Changing it back is the same process. If you can change the differential fluid, you can change an as-built code. It's that simple.

I don't have a BCM option...

Did you get the licensed (1yr) for Forscan?

It should look like this:
Possibly try creating another profile to allow the modules to reload.
Try it with engine running

Click on (BdyCM) - Module Configuration this will be the easy (GUI) that will list the various changes that Forscan will do automatically.
The other one (As Built) requires you to change manually

The Hex Line - Specific (seen in the As-Built) Link

726-41-02
0101-0101-0074 - Change it to 0100-0101-00??
The last (2) characters of any hex line is the checksum of that data string, and it will change automatically anytime anything is changed with any characters on the line.
It is basically providing a verification 2-digit code that the line is a valid configuration string.

Now if you enter the non-As-Built links and you make a change - this is the line that Forscan changes automatically

The above disables the DBL Honk when you exit the truck with the engine running.

I wouldn't change the cross traffic even though it is annoying, it may see something you don't one day , mine has...

I agree, but I just want to lower the volume. I often come home late & back into the garage & our bedroom is right above the garage. It beeps so loud & so often that it wakes up my better half.
