What the general opinion on the Bedrug impact? Is it more slippery than the classic for cargo? It's only available in the mat for the 6' bed though.

My local topper guy wants $475 installed for the full classic liner. Since I have a topper I'm thinking of just the mat and tailgate cover, it's a lot cheaper. But which one? And where's the cheapest place to buy? Installation looks really simple.

I have the impact mat and really like it. It’s held up well for 6 months and I like that it covers the tailgate and gap in between. It’s not slippery at all and has good padding. I don’t have any experience with the traditional bedrug but this mat is great. I got it from Tonneau Factory Outlet but it’s drop shipped and I’d guess one of the sponsors of this forum could get it too. I have it installed over spray-in and that was easy. Just Velcro.

Glad to hear that you like it, djrobb. T-Wrecks, I just ordered the Bed Mat Impact Heavy Duty for the 5’ bed from my Ford dealership. It was $ 239. I didn’t know about Tonneau Factory Outlet until djrobb’s post, but I just looked it up, and they do have one for the 5’ bed. It’s $203, but I don’t know about shipping costs. I also will be installing it over spray-in liner. I don’t have a tonneau cover, so I’m banking on its “water-resistance” and draining. I was originally looking for a rubber mat, but was primarily looking for padding for my knees.

I've seen the classic, it looks too fuzzy to me, like you'd need to clean it with a vacuum. I'm just looking for protection and keeping cargo from sliding around that is easy to clean. I fish and hunt so there's blood and things that need to be washed off right away. Not sure what's the purpose of having a rug in the floor of the bed? I also like the idea these make the bed flat unlike rubber mats. And I'm guessing the are significantly lighter if you need to take them out and clean underneath them as I has to do with my old ranger with a rubber mat.

The bedrug looks like a rug, but it isn't - the fibers are actually plastic/synthetic. It can be hosed off or pressure washed to be cleaned. I've not really messed up my bedrug yet, but I've read/heard multiple reports of people putting all sorts of stuff on it and it just hoses off. It does appear to be pretty tough stuff and impervious to most things.

I've had them in all my trucks. Acid, resistant, etc. It's not hard to clean. Good street or wiss broom work great. It is held on with velcro fastners. Peel it off if real dirty, lean against wall and hose it off. Set it back in... eezy peezy. I had all 4 sides on one truck. Great if you are worried about beating the hell out of your sidewalls. I just use the 2 piece bed and tailgate liner now. I see no reason to get the connected type other than to keep crap from going in between tailgate and bed. TETO...

Is anyone using these with a bed extender? The kind that flips out onto the tailgate?

I'd like to know this too. I'm looking at a bed rug, but wasn't sure how much it'll lift the extender or if it would effect its operation in any way. Doesn't seem like it should, but would like reassurances before purchasing.

Using a bed extender with a BedRug?

If that is the question, then yes, I'm using a Bed Extender with a BedRug - I also have a Tonneau cover (an Extang Solid Fold 2.0). The only issue is that the bed extender makes using the handles to lock the cover in place a little challenging - you can do it, but you have to put the handles in just the right position. Otherwise there are no issues using all 3 of these.

Note - I have the Ford bed extender.

Edit: Here are a couple of photos of the bedrug and bed extender:

BedRug says it will work with the bed extender. No issues.

I love my bed rug. Have already gotten it dirty though. Just let it dry and vacuum it up.

I asked bedrug about the difference between the classic and impact, they said: Classic is a carpet like material and the Impact is a rubber like material and that's it's a personal preference. They also said it's the same thickness and padding.

Thanks, Rob! That right there is the only thing that kept me from getting the Extang cover - I have the extender that's more "U" shape vs. your more "V" shaped one. Love my Lomax cover though!

BedRug says it will work with the bed extender. No issues.
Good to know. I didn't think there'd be an issue - just needed the extra verification.

I don't know if the U shaped one would be better or worse than the V shaped one. It is a bit of an annoyance but it is relatively easy to work around. I really do like the Extang cover. It has worked really well for me.
