When I replaced my grill and changed to the RTR grill, I squeezed the clips together, so to speak and slowly pulled out on each one till they all released.

Thanks! This is helpful. Now I just have to figure out how to get something in there to depress the tab ...

Did you use a tool to get to the clips. or did you fit your hand in there somehow?
It's been a while but I think it was both. A few you can reach and others you can push with a long screwdriver or similar. It's important to locate them all because they are hard to see. The clip needs to be pushed outwards. 5 clips on the bottom and one on each end. I did break one before I figured it out.

I haven't had to or tried to remove my grill, but reading along it seems that the "clips" need to be pushed down to release. If this is correct, than couldn't you simply use a piece of dowel rod long enough to reach to push down on the clips ???

Ya I fought with my grill, it can be tricky. Mainly it’s pressing down in the middle of the clip, after that it’s patience.

Thanks! I ended up removing the plastic around the hood latch and the plastic baffle/piece above the clips. Then I finally got them released. The middle one was the most difficult to do without looking a hole in anything. Many thanks! Mark

When you reinstall the grill, reinstall that center divider and latch cover before you push the grill back in, makes the reinstall much easier.

Yes, I did. I watched a YouTube video where the guy did not do that, but it seemed like it made sense to.
Thanks, Mark

I've got the only one in my area. And it's an insert.
