So, i finally got my hands on a scanner to check my engine light and the code showing is PO451 which is part of the polution controls
PO451 ERROR CODE
EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM SENSOR
PRESSURE SWITCH
I spoke to a Ford mechanic who asked if i had the truck undersprayed/rust proofed which i replied yes back in december. He advised that a common problem was that the Rust Check product can get into the sending unit on top of the gas tank and screw it up and that's been a common problem ...shoot, and the only way to fix it is to drop the tank and replce and clean the connectors and sending unit ....great Hope this helps some of you out there encountering a similar issue

Most Auto Parts stores will scan it for you, to at least get the code. However, some will not clear them.
So, get the code and post it and then we can go from there, but in the meantime, you should still be able to log into your Ford Account (on-line) and you will be able to view what the area is, same as Ford Pass would. (same generic information)

I have a bluetooth ODB reader and the mobile app called Torque, it has worked very well for years now, I think the reader was $10 on ebay and the app was $10 in the android store, they may have one for IOS if you have Apple, I have the same thing on my Tablet and can set it in the center for long trips or when I tow so I know what strange stuff is happening in real time....
you can make your own heads up from 100s of different PIDs from sensors with many different looks and gauges setting it up the way you want, I also have it on my phone

In case anyone is wondering, this is what a gold tooth ODB looks like:
ODB.webp

But seriously, I have the OBD MXPlus which is also Bluetooth.
The app runs on your phone similar to the Torque Pro.
What I like about it is that it's not limited to one vehicle like many others.

Many of us use the free app called Forscan. You will need to buy an adapter that will cost around $60. You can read, clear codes, do maintenance procedures and reprogram with this app.
So, I would describe myself as being an internet/computer basic intermediate. So what you are saying is i can download the Forscan app to a laptop or cellphone and do my own diagnosis? Wow, thanks, that's awesome advice!!

It's there just different spot, - Service - Vehicle Health.
Missing Items: Fuel Gauge, Service History (add record) and the Owner's Manual, Warranty Etc.
also missing is the (Last Update-TIME) for location history and the ability to pull down and release to get the app to refresh.

the new FordPass app 5.0.1. isn't working on my cell phone, bummer. I contacted Ford and they said i'm not the only one with this issue. And then my check engine light came on today....SHT!!! Can anyone suggest which scanning tool i should buy to diagnose this engine light issue?
Any reader will tell you, should get one they are cheap. But could also go to auto parts stores and they typically read for you
