I had the Ford Performance Package installed on my 21 Ranger after purchase. Is there an update and do I need to check every so often for another.

I had this installed by the dealer yesterday and am pleased with the results. The dealer had the wrong tire size entered for my ranger (2022 Tremor, so I should be at 657 RPM and they had 659 RPM) but other than that, all is well. Small sample size, but I am seeing 20.5 mpg instead of the 17.5 - 18 I had been getting and the power is noticeable. I was under the impression it would remember my ASS setting after turning off but it doesn't. That's ok, I am working on a CAN BUS device that will remember and disable/enable based on last status for my wife's bronco, should be nearly identical for my Ranger.

There was an update about a year ago. Didn’t seem to change anything

I installed this myself, and yeah in the software and documentation it recommends checking every few months for updates.

Is that true of other brand of tunes, IE Livernois?

Hard to say, but I have heard of Livernois specifically offering updated versions of their tunes.

I installed mine two years ago and I don’t think there has been a meaningful update. It seems like there have been updates to the Procal device itself, but not the actual tune.

I've heard some of those ProCal updates added additional PIDs for the gauges option on it, so it could be meaningful if you wanted one of gauges but the older firmware didn't support it.
