At least this guy did not see his shadow this morning, it'll be an early spring! Don't know if it's a thing in Canada, or if you follow the Beaver meteorologist...

Actually, we have several Groundhog Day rodents in different parts of the country.
  • Shubenacadie Sam (Nova Scotia)
  • Wiarton Willie (Ontario)
  • Fred la Marmotte (Quebec)
  • Manitoba Merv (Manitoba)
  • Whelan Woody (Saskatchewan)
  • Balzac Billie (Alberta)
  • Van Isle Violet and Okanagan Okie (British Columbia)
The first two have likely been around the longest.

Didn't one of them die last year? They had the whole celebration ready, only to find out that it had died overnight? I seem to recall something like that, but can't remember where or which one.

I haven’t seen him post anything but I think he’s been moderating a bit - deleting posts and sock puppets, banning Canadians - they’re the worst. ;)
Really? He's moderating? ?
Sounds like a challenge, and it will be Friday night, maybe a little drunk posting... ?

Balzac is a town in Alberta. There is also a town called Tofield.

Old Joke:

”I went to Tofield and they cut off my toes. Good thing I didn’t go to Balzac.”

Insert joke about believing in a rodent but not science here.

Unavoidable - it follows the geese.

I cannot believe that canadian geese aren't like iguanas in florida - you are able to kill them without limit as long as it is done in a humane manner. I think the most I killed in my backyard with my air rifle was 5 in one day - to be clear that is 5 iguanas.

canadian geese are so loud and obnoxious. and messy.

It’s called the Canada Goose, not Canadian Goose - we take absolutely no responsibility or ownership of them - we don’t want the disgusting varmints either - they’re like giant sea gulls but worse - too bad both our governments protect them.

Likely because the geese lobbied Washington hard. That’s not some wild conspiracy theory - I have proof…

...and the damn things are mean, too. I can see going after an iguana, but odds are if you shot a goose the rest of the damn flock would attack you. Especially the city ones; I swear they're more vicious than hockey enforcers when their star player gets "boarded".

They stop by my place on the way to Florida. They seem to have fuel leaks at takeoff after eating corn to produce ethanol for the flight .
