Give it time as it can and will happen. I have seen the Ford Extended warranty deny a claim for an engine replacement due to a spark plug breaking. They claimed that it is a maintenance part. The vehicle wasn't even at the time or mileage for the plugs to be changed and one of the plugs broke causing the failure. If they do that I'm sure they can blame the tune all they want
Dealer service departments are rip off artists.

I have the same issue with my 2022 XLT with 21,000 miles and factory tune. It only happens when I go uphill when I leave my driveway. Never happens going down hill. I have to lay off the throttle when it pauses or the backend jerks and bangs.
This summer I had issues with hard shifting and followed a YouTube video to clear the PCM and that worked. No issues since.

clearing the system does help short term. makes the transmission do the relearn thing. a dealer did that to mine a couple times. and when i get annoyed enough i flash it with my procal thing.

To simply put a stop to the argument, Ford and Ford Extended warranty can chose to Deny any Warranty Claim based on what they find even if they feel the Tune is the Cause. Like it or not that is the truth. It does not matter if you are not aware of a claim where it has happened. Ford has more than enough to back themselves in the event they decided to if needed.
Frenchy I am agreeing with you; there is no argument. We are simply saying two different things. Ford can choose to deny based on anything little thing, even spark plugs, but they blame it on something. They blame it on owners not doing maintenance and they blame it on mods and they blame it on other vendors' tunes. They have never blamed their own tune for a warranty denial.

Not that you are aware of maybe, but that's about it. Just because you are not aware of the blame being put on the Ford Performance Tune mean little.

one thing id like to throw in here - i noticed a few mention that transmission issues are worse when cold etc. yall all live in much colder climate than i do. sure texas gets cold etc. esp in the panhandle area but where i am "cold" is anything below 70 lol. my truck has the first gear slip and bang into second or third even during summer days when its triple digit temps and 80% humidity. its worse when cold. The reason i point this out is that it leads me to think its not so much the temp, but the lack of fluid inside the transmission in all the places it needs to be when it needs to be. that screams design flaw or low fluid. ive checked mine several times. after coming from the factory nearly a quart low and being corrected it always has the correct amount of fluid and still bang. this may be why some of the tsb for a time had dealers swap out a couple of things in the transmission if the first few flashes and lies that its normal and nothing wrong didnt keep the customer away.

Not that I am aware of, or any Ford enthusiast forum is aware of, and not Levittown Ford themselves are aware of. That actually means a whole lot (to me, at least).

Knock on wood...I'm at 16K with new trans and everything seems just fine...although I still have PTSD from prior failure so an light bump in any gear gives me chills...But...I think I have a newer 23 pallet transmission and hope that the same bugs won't follow me...what ever the case, it has 3 year, unlimited mile warranty...it's one year old now so two more to go lol...

The DPFE sensor is a completely different issue...that part failure causes surging/bucking at lower speeds and unrelated to the transmission failure issues although many people conflate the two...
Knock loudly. It was 40K miles before mine has started acting up (when cold it will sometimes slip/not engage, which is the new for this mild winter).

OP - have you considered removing the tune, all evidence, and an extended warranty? Splash of holy water, salt over the shoulder, and cross your fingers.

You can remove the tune , but not the evidence of it , it's hard flashed in there I was told ...

I have 17k on my 2022 and when it's cold I also get a clunk from my first 3rd to 4th shift. After that first occurrence everything is fine.

Until the truck warms it clunks...

It used to happen once on the way out of the neighborhood and it was fine after that. It has gotten progressively worse...

same with mine. eventually yalls will start doing the cluck, (i call it the lag and thud or hang n bang) when coming to a stop. so coming back down through gears you will had that clunk. warm or cold. Ive had mine do it after driving 75 on the highway for over 100 miles. after that long the truck was surely warmed up well.

I guess this is now a fun thing to keep an eye on :(... Doesn't yet seem to be at the threshold to go to a dealer based on my current symptoms.
