It actually does not have to be in park, just below like 5mph or some slow speed. You can turn them on at stop lights, but as soon as you start to pull away, they will quickly shut off.

You can't really use the button to turn them off when you open the door and get out, but one hit of the button as you are getting out will keep them on for a good long time. Long enough to empty the bed of whatever you have in there. Jellyfish launcher is my preferred description of the picture on the button.

I found that button when I replaced the bulbs with LED's to test them.

Now I've got some 'new' feature to play with ?. On a timer you say? I wonder if that can be fiddled with in Forscan or if I can integrate some relay to use it to control bed lights?
If you have the ignition off, Cargo lights on, they will turn off just like everything else after 10 minutes or so. with the engine idling in Park, they should stay on indefinitely, or until 10 minutes after you run out of gas.

Thanks to this thread, I now know I have a cargo light button. The light goes off in less then 10 minutes, more like 2 minutes. However it's pretty useless in my truck since I have a Leer topper on the bed.

Anyone know what the squid launcher is super effective against? Just want to make sure I use my tools effectively
Squids eat fish and crustaceans, so if your Ranger is ever attacked by a school of fish or a herd of shrimp or a passel of crabs, your Squid Launcher will be there to protect you and your Ranger.
Just make sure your launcher is loaded with current squids....you don't want squids that have reached or gone over their expiration date.......if so, they may not launch correctly, or just go "SPLAT" when launched.

Crap I haven’t checked the date. Do you think the ford dealership will check for me while it’s there?

Doubt it as your most likely out of warranty, and I don't think, if you have one, that their covered by an extended warranty.
Best to just make some calamari out of them and get some new squids.

My cargo light button does nothing. Is is a known problem?
Mine works, and I've never seen this raised as an issue in the year that I've been on this forum. =(

Does it have it's own dedicated fuse?

Update: since it won't turn off the light, I'm gonna upgrade and change mine out to something like this:

I prefer to launch them at people who are annoying me. Especially those who have their high-beams on behind me at stop lights. My own silent protest. Maybe I should change them out with super high intensity bulbs to try to blind the drivers with their high beams on... Give them a taste of their own medicine.

I actually took the bulbs out of mine. Never used them and got sick of them coming on every time I opened the doors.
