We have been in a health emergency all day today and it may last another 48 hours. Smoke from the Canadian wildfires has invaded our area and looks like it will get worse overnight. It's terrible here but I really feel sorry for those being displaced by the fires. No clouds in the sky but can't see the sunshine, onlya orange glow. Anyone else affected by this.

I remember those days..... Not fun to be outside in that. I'm hoping more of that isn't in our future this summer. We've had enough fires for a while.

One of the reasons I left Oregon. I couldn't breath from June to September. ? Here in Philippines not a issue, always a rain.
It didn't use to be this way - it has only been in the last 10 years or so that it has gotten so bad.....

It hit Colorado a few weeks ago and did some stuff.

Most importantly, have you had a craving for Waffles or Pancakes yet?! With all the smoke from the Maple trees I must know!! ?

When we lived in MT “Smoke Season” was an every year thing. Half if July all of August the air was filled with smoke, smell of campfire, and it looked like the apocalypse. Only time in my life I get allergies is when the smoke is rolling.

This is what happens with un-regulated forests.

Are they going to learn an go back to cutting fire breaks in forests to help contain wild fires?
The issue mostly is lawsuits by environmentalists. Most forests have so much dry fuel piled up on the forest floor, that's why fires are so hot, move so fast and hard to extinguish.
