No choice? How about stopping and backing out? Or airing down their tires to ~10 psi and cutting ~4 inches off their height?
I mean they have a choice but I think the damage is done. A couple vids I saw had a line of cars behind them.

Ah, never had to install one of those. But why the heck does the cable need to be so long? When he holds up the illustration on the instruction sheet, it doesn't show so much slack.
Looks like he had a short door an may have put the lock too high? Mine didn't have a cable it had a very light chain but they were the close triangle links. it looked easily shortened

Pretty sure a steel man door beside the garage door would be about 42.3x as secure as that flimsy thing.
The garages were on a hill an each wall was poured. They poured staggered walls.

you can see the ones across from mine.

The poured walls made hanging shelves an stuff a little tougher than frame construction (for me anyway).

Yep, like I said. Cost saving measure. Has nothing to do with security.

When you're dealing with an association every decision is cost saving first. Also in this case, only the first and last garage could have had man doors since one side went up against the actual building (lower units were half underground so no man doors there either) an the other side went against another associations property we didn't own. The first an last garages could have had them an I'm glad they didn't because the association would have found it a reason to charge those units a larger monthly fee!

Well thinking I was good with my truck in most hotel garages - I had a close call today or at least it felt like it. Haven’t hit anything with my antenna so far till today. Staying over at a hotel and the garage parking clearance is 6’5”. Went under and “twang” and went crap. I forgot the height with the antenna is 6’6 3/4” inches. So that last 2 inches - it did scare me though. Removed antenna tonight so it don’t hit leaving tomorrow. Gonna buy the stubby first chance I get now!

I'm comfortable I can put what ever size tires I want on an be ok. But seriously didn't someone on here have that emergency release chain catch the antenna an rip it out? I had one of those on my condo garage since the overhead door was the only access. You unlocked it with a key an pulled the lock that came out to pull the garage door release so you could open it without power.
Perfect garage for a four post lift...

I'm good with our 7' door but my wife tried twice to take it down...once by backing out before the door was fully up and then second attempt with her hatch open...

I bud of mine has about the same size garage but with 3 doors across the long side with 12 ft ceilings an he has a two post in there an it works fine. I saw a portable "truck lift" set up on marketplace that was cheap enough to tempt me. Guess they roll around an you roll it up to the sides an put the arms under the truck. I might have to sell a garden tractor or two before putting a two post in.
