Mine only shifts oddly when it's in the 'S'hit mode. I think the S should be changed to a ? because you never know what your going to get. "S"hit mode holds the revs way too much under light or no throttle, downshifts are even worse and doesn't seem to go past 6th gear. Throttle response is better, but not enough to make me use it. So I just plain old 'D' and it works find.
Have you tried Tow/Haul mode? Nice alternative somewhere between luggy D and snappy S.

I'm at 97,000 miles on my 2019 XLT with zero tranny issues. Shifts about as good as the day I drove it off the lot, or so I thought. Tranny issues can be mistaken for something else, like the EGR vacuum control sensor. When that thing goes out, the truck can jump and shift funky, fooling anyone. I replaced my EGR sensor as a precautionary measure and I swear it's a new transmission!

I think I have an EGR issue...new transmission runs fine but at speeds below 30, truck wants to lurch like gas is lightly on/off....also after shutting off briefly then starting backup, the throttle does the same thing...lurch like it doesn't know if gas is on or off...

BTW, not saying you'll have bad luck like I did but my tranny ran perfect up to 95K...then within a few month, I ended paying for a new install out of pocket...

Anyone have that long link to the EGR shutter issue thread?

I've driven in tow mode exclusively for about 32000 miles, its so much better than D or S.
I wouldn't mind this except for seeing the tow light on the dash. Messes with my ocd.............
