FX2 and tailgate dampener with remote release are the most interesting things here.

Where do you see tailgate dampener mentioned? I don't see it? I think the remote release is the same as what the 2019's have - the tailgate unlocks with the key fob.

Concur, I wonder what the FX2 will have but I'm feeling really comfortable with my still new purchase now. No buyers buyers for me!

Well...you’re right. After reviewing the ‘19 pamphlet it says the same thing. Sure sounded like that.

To summarize: no new real features. Colors added and subtracted. Black pack gone, FX2 added.

Odd that the Black Package is gone after only being available for half the model year. We're only just now seeing trucks with that option hit the dealers. Guess that'll make my truck all the more unique/rare

That’s exactly what it is; it makes a 4x2 look like a 4x4.
The FX2 was mentioned in all the press releases in 2018, but never showed up for the 2019 MY. Looks like Ford is fixing that.
AN AMERICAN FAVORITE REINVENTED: NEW FORD RANGER BRINGS BUILT FORD TOUGH INNOVATION TO U.S. MIDSIZE TRUCK SEGMENT

"Power is distributed through Dana® AdvanTEK® independent front and solid rear axles on both 2WD and 4WD models with an available electronic-locking rear axle (standard on FX2 and FX4) for increased all-terrain traction. Ranger four-wheel-drive versions feature 2-high, 4-high and 4-low."

Looks like there isn’t any reason to order a 2020 over the 2019? Sans color options.
I'm not sure how much different the "regular" order guide will be over the Fleet guide. I guess we will find out for sure tomorrow when the real order guide is released. But at this point, it certainly doesn't look like anything new except for colors.

Exactly...with the demand being what it is (moderate to strong) there was no way Ford was going to make many changes, let alone significant ones that would require factory changes or impact the supply chains.
...and look at the competition...the Nissan is ages old, the GM twins and the Tacoma (including its “new” 2020 “re-do”) have had very MINOR, if any, changes over their current generations.

Stay tuned for the next version..just out in AUTOMOBILE magazine:
