Or you could just stick to Motorcraft. Nothing wrong with Wix but if it’s a concern just go with Fords recommendation.
Basically Purolator with the Ford label. Nothing wrong with Purolator. I just prefer Wix.

Agreed... except when it is from China. China and quality never go in the same sentence.
That is not true at all. Virtually every cell phone, computer, TV and most all other consumer electronics come from China. When was the last time some one said an iPhone was not a quality product, made in China in the same factory that makes Samsung phones.

Good point.

Just FYI, most Samsung phones are produced in Vietnam. Yes my phone is a Samsung. Yes I checked prior to purchase. If it had been China I'd have gotten another brand of phone. But that's just me.

But there are tons of examples of rotten quality from products produced in china. Something like phones they can't hide underhanded bs. With other products they can hide it. At least for a while.

Regardless, you do you. I'll do me. For me, there are certain products which I simply do not want produced in China. Oil filters is one of them. Though my list is long... actually I'd prefer nothing I buy be produced there. Not much way to make that happen though.

FWIW, in my 50+ years of driving I have had three oil filters fail. One Wix and two Motorcraft.

With the Wix the end cap was not crimped to the can properly, as soon as I started the engine after an oil change oil came pissing out. The two Motorcrafts were back to back on my Ecoboost Mustang. The leak was at the gasket, couldn't figure out what was going on but I picked up a Bosch filter at the corner parts store and it sealed just fine.

I’ve used Fram Orange forever. If you routinely change your oil at 5k it’s fine. Plus I got a hook up and only pay $2-$3 a filter

I have always used factory filters. Whether it be Ford, GM, Dodge, John Deere, Briggs and Stratton, etc.

I’ve never had an issue with WIX/NAPA Gold filters but these new ones seem…cheap. The cardboard box (if you buy a 12-pack), the labels, and construction all feel “budget” to me like some of the new Purolator filters.

My guess is WIX is facing stiff competition from OEM filters such as Motorcraft and ACDelco that they now are building them cheaper globally.

Still haven’t ever had a filter fail (even the orange can of death), but some filters tend to make engines rattle on cold starts so I at least try to target a $4 or greater filter for quality.

YMMV..

Ha! I like the BTTF reference (I have a DeLorean). Google "Lucas Prince of Darkness" for a good laugh on many of the UK-sourced parts that I've had to replace with their Bosch equivalents.

The whole thing about anything being made in China is you are directly funding China, which in turn will use any of these funds to build, more ships, planes, drones , spy ballons ect.
We will be at war with most likely in 2 to 3 years. And Americans love for China and all that is made there, will help lead to our loss or worse!

Agreed!
they could crush us any time they felt the urge. we are currently tens of trillions in debt. almost nothing is made here and the things that are made here still rely heavily on parts from china and other places. they have a bigger military exponentially than ours not just in man power but ships subs aircraft and technology. i know google may say other wise but in 2012 the navy coast guard and marines were telling us that it was 4-7 for every one of our assets. china has grown a lot since then. they also have the manufacturing to support a war by out building any one else on the planet. part of what made ww2 an Allied win was America could build more fighting goods than the others and we built them fast, well and to win. those days are long gone. 1 quick look around my workspace and almost nothing in sight is made in usa. same story in the parking lot. all those things aside look how things work here lol our military is being taught about "gender" sensitivity while others are trained to hate the usa and kill. I love the USA and I am grateful for the life we have here but i think we may be screwed blued and tattooed if a war starts.

Get China to build you phone for $150, then sell it to the public for $1400.
Nobody loves China more than the CEO's, board members and shareholders.
